We are Celebrity frequent cruisers, we liked the itinerary and the dates We spent about 4 nights pre cruise in Santiago--highly recommended! The port is about 2 1/2 hours from Santiago.. We had been on this ship before but not since it was updated. The ship was lovely as was our verandah cabin. Our fellow passengers were a fun mix of Europeans, South Americans and North Americans. We had 2 great Beyond the Podium Speakers--a geologist and a naturalist. We cruised through the Panama Canal with their commentary--very interesting. We stopped in the following ports: : Arica, Chile; Lima ( Callaoe), Peru; Manta, Ecuador, and Curacao in the Caribbean. Sadly we had limited time in Lima since the port was about 45 minutes from Lima and there was a ton of traffic. We were in Manta on Palm Sunday so most places of interest were closed..... We didn't take any shore excursions and did hire a taxi for 3 hours in Lima. Otherwise we just explored on our own which was fine . My Spanish language skills ( which are not that extensive) were put to good use.
The food was good to poor The dining room food was better than the buffet---especially for dinner. Breakfast was good in the buffet. We had My Time dining and a reservation was helpful. BUT we never sat with the same waiter and this was a drawback.
The ship had an outbreak of rotavirus but it was kept extremely CLEAN. We never got sick but I did wash and/or sanitize my hands frequently.
Our cabin was spacious enough, with a very nice size bathroom. The balcony was small but adequate. We were mid ship which I recommend.
