This was an outstanding cruise! We picked this cruise for 2 reasons: the itinerary and our previous pleasant experiences with Azamara. We were not disappointed.
We were traveling with friends; this was their first cruise in many years. They were also very impressed and pleased.
The refurbished Quest is gorgeous, particularly the re-purposed Living Room. I think it was our favorite place on the ship.
We arrived 2 days early so we could explore Stockholm. It was our favorite city on the itinerary! Stockholm is walkable, friendly, and there were many things to see and do.
We did our "own thing" in this old walled city. We were close enough to the port to be able to walk to the old city.
We were on our own in this very charming city. We learned that Marimekko had a store in Helsinki, so that was our first stop! Ship was docked near the city center. Information we had from the ship and from the Rick Steves book guided our sightseeing.
We took the train to Lubeck, a medieval city, where we visited a great Puppet Museum! We also did some sightseeing (thanks Rick Steves!) and enjoyed some luscious pastries. Otherwise, there wasn't much to see in Travemunde.
We stayed behind to explore Waremunde and Rostock. Waremunde is a beach vacation site for Germans, so that was interesting. Rostock is a small city which houses a large university.
