We chose this cruise for the ports it was visiting and for that reason we are glad we did. We spent three nights in our departure city of Barcelona prior to boarding then took a tour of Monserat with a small group tour where we were picked up at our hotel, with the luggage , taken on the tour then taken to the port around 2pm. Embarkation was quick and easy and our stateroom was ready right away.
We hadn't used RCL for a few years and this was only our second cruise with them. Our very first cruise was RCL and was great. In the years since then much has changed, not necessarily for the better.
The Rhapsody of the Seas is older and looking it. Lots of rust around and didn't see the constant maintenance we're used to on HAL. Cabin was fine, shower particularly small as I've seen mentioned before. Evening dining in the restaurant had really good food overall, some of the best we've had on cruises. Entertainment was enjoyable for the most part. Activities staff very upbeat and encouraging.
Functional. Shower very small. Verandah door very noisy in the wind and did a lot of banging. Track for the sliding window pretty disgusting looking - not sure when last properly cleaned. The ship itself seemed to often just be noisier than were used too. Cabin was quiet as far as hearing other people though.
Needed more time for Monserat
