The Christmas markets was a bucket list wish and this cruise visited a selection of these beautiful markets. We were blessed with snow on two of the days, very Christmassy indeed. In Neuremberg the markets were magical. As well as the farytale feeling of the markets Viking also offered shore excursions to the area. We chose to see the Zepplinfeld where Nazi Party Rallies were held, so much history and so interesting. The tour guide was just amazing with his wealth of knowledge.
Each day at a different beautiful destination also offered shore excursions which were wonderful and organised to the dot. Activities on the ship in the afternoon and evening were lovely from the beautiful piano music playing, to making Christmas biscuits and also information sessions regarding the next wonderful day. One evening we had a Glass Blower from Wertheim come on and show the art of his trade, well it was amazing and I am sure we all asked how we could see more of his work.
The meals on the ship were first class at every meal, being a cruise through a part of Germany there was a German night which we thoroughly enjoyed. We had a French Balcony which was just so comfortable and homely. The bed was absolutely comfortable, even heating on the ensuite floor, just beautiful. We were spoilt with luxurious toiletries, Christmas biscuits and even a bottle of wine. The staff were the best in the business and I can say that for sure as we have travelled with other companies. I will be returning to the wonderful Viking family for another cruise for sure. Hoping its sooner rather than later.
Beautiful cabins with views to the outside river of ever hanging scenery.
Luxurious toiletries, super comfortable bed, and amazing use of space.
Very comfortable every part of the room.
A wonderful and big Christams Market here with lots to see, also very interesting shore tours offered from here
Was good to do a bus trip to see different countryside. The castle was a good tour with magic views from the castle and the Xmas markets we visited were just below the castle. A big city to see and lots of interesting shopping
Another beautiful market and very German experience
