We chose this cruise for two reasons: the port of Houston was drive able for us and we wanted to visit Cartagena, Columbia. We were familiar with the other ports, but enjoyed some anyway. Embarkation and debarkation were relatively easy and it was a joy to just drive home. The ship was tired and disappointing. We arrived on board with problems in the very tiny room (balcony). Toilet not working, TV fuzzy, no Kleenex, no pillow top for the queen (2 twins). All were remedied in a timely manner. Our cabin steward was always on the ball. No corkscrews in room. Wine was allowed to be brought on at embarkation.
Everywhere you went was crowded to overcrowded, shows were not available to you unless you went 40-60 minutes early. It was difficult to find seats in lounges, especially if the entertainment was popular. Dining rooms were lovely, but dated- very low ceilings and darkly furnished. Waiters and assistants were best part, menus were just ok. Our ship excursion in Cozumel was the catamaran snorkel trip. It was great, but it was difficult for most cruisers to reboard the catamaran. We would not do that one again, even though it was fun for the most part.
We did not disembark in Panama, which was a highlight of this itinerary. We had been there before. However, a ship excursion to the canals delayed the ship leaving port for 3 hours! . All in all we decided this would be our last cruise on Princess since other cruise lines offer much larger cabins for balconies. A larger cabin on Princess is a mini-suite. We were used to balconies on Holland America and Celebrity Cruise lines.
Closet was ample and open, shelves gave extra room for stuff, shower was way too small, sink and counter space with shelves worked well.
