We've cruised with Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Holland American. We were anxious to take a cruise with Celebrity because of the great ratings for their ships & cruises. Unfortunately, we were UNDERWHELMED. Our balcony cabin was much smaller than other lines we sailed on, but the bathroom was spacious. I'd rather have more cabin room than bathroom space! Service from staff was fair - nothing to write home about - with the exception or our Concierge specialist. She was phenomenal. Many of the general staff did not speak or understand English very well. When had made special requests far in advance of boarding which were not honored. It was necessary for us to call the desk several times to request distilled water, additional towels and an extension cord when this had been requested months in advance. Also, the first water that was brought to our cabin was not distilled.
Food was fair with the exception of our last evening meal at the specialty restaurant Luminae. Luminae's food and service was heads above the rest. The shows were entertaining and fun. Water areas were enjoyable and the spa was good.
Another disappointing issue was the nickel & diming of guests for access to certain food areas & other amenities. My in-laws had booked a Royal Suite and 3 additional Aqua Class suites and we (Aqua Class cabins) were turned away from specialty areas when we joined our Royal Suite in-laws. This is tacky and ludicrous. Spend over $30k and you can't get your family member a specialty coffee?
Cabin was smaller than other cruise lines. Bathroom was largest we've experienced, but I'd rather have the cabin space. Also thought the balcony was small for the class of cabin
Ship was late arriving so it cut the zip line short and we missed seeing much jungle life as it was too darkZip line staff was well trained and helpful.
We chose to return to Pinel Island. Love it!
did an all day sailing which included snorkeling, lunch and impromptu onboard dancing & music. Food was great, drinks were plentiful (a little too much so for some guests who got rather tipsy) and the staff was super accomodating
