We are retired senior citizens living in southwest Florida and needed a weekend interlude to chill out. We as a rule do not like short cruises for this purpose, but revisited the 4 day cruise option. This was our 83rd cruise and 21st with Princess. And was it a joy with good food, places to read around the adult area in front of deck16 and enjoyable entertainment. We particularly enjoyed the new bed covering topper being installed on all Princess ships, the nightly event in Sky walkers for platinum and above captain circle members and the international café on the piazza on deck 5.

Customer service in general was excellent and fellow passengers, mostly in their 50's and above were in good form with generally pleasant dispositions which makes for a happy cruise.

We took advantage of a good price on an obstructed outside room at the location of the last lifeboat. But you could have a clear view of the back of the ship and you could look over and through the lifeboat. So with nice places to read around the ship, we did not miss a balcony. But we still rather have the balcony except if there is a good incentive on the type of room we had. As others have noted, it is hard to get the room temperature down and so room temperatures fluctuated a bit more to the warm side than we like. The room never was as hot as a reptile cage but at times a little warm for us.

Cabin Review

Oceanview (obstructed view)

Cabin OY

Cabin was a little bit smaller size than a balcony. Without the balcony and the seating that affords, you can really miss having a sofa in the room as there is only 1 chair. Closet space in the connecting bath is nice and plenty of storage. Room a little noisy from activities below, especially hearing door on deck 7 slamming. Also, in rough water, felt more vibrations than in middle of the ship.
