Disappointing (too big); I love mega ships, but service suffers and so does $$.

I'll start with the the best part of the cruise. Our Cabin Attendant (Clover Roberts) was a great Steward. She was always helpful with a smile on her face and very respectful. She made a so-so trip for us a better than it would have been. There was one waiter, who served us once at dinner and once at lunch, that was great! Unfortunately, that was the exception, not the rule. This was after complaining twice about service issues.

Johnny Rockets now charges extra fee for lunch and dinner, $6.95 per person, and extra $5 for shakes. I'm a diamond Crown and anchor member and know good service when I receive it. I was really disappointed with being on Oasis this time. It was my second time. The popcorn selling at the shows and by the pool is really bad. When you go on an all inclusive vacation, you don't expect to pay for things like popcorn and pringles chips in the pub. This is not ok, and shame on Royal for doing it.

Our friend won the poker tournament and will be on Allure in December, and I'm actually considering not going because of the up sells for every little thing on the mega ships, and the overall service that seems to have suffered. The loyalty program needs to be recognized as well. Most dining room staff wouldn't give us priority seating in the dining room for "my time dining" and did not recognize our status. Also no priority seating in the shows. There were so many private functions being held in bars, clubs and lounges, we were very disappointed to be a guest on this ship and not be able to enjoy these areas most of the cruise. What was worse, is that I had friends who had never sailed, and I bragged to them about the service and all the things that we were going to be able to do, that didn't happen. The popcorn thing was absolutely ridiculous and a lot of guests around the ship were talking about it. The worse thing about the experience was the overall service in the bars, dining rooms and also the large groups on board that took over the ship making it seem like we weren't as important and making it impossible to take advantage of the clubs there.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D8

The room configuration is small with the bed next to the balcony. It was very small. Not a lot of closet space on this one either.
