From the beginning I had a feeling that this cruise was not going to be any better than a previous NCL experience. We paid for VIP status and when going aboard NCL shore people shoved us into the VERY long "latitudes members" line; VIP status already out the port hole before even getting on.
When leaving the Caribbean to return to NYC we sailed up the tailpipe of the storm that damaged one Royal Caribbean ship and forced another to return to port. It was 12 to 15 foot swells in 50 MPH wind for 2 days, I am probably one of the few passengers OK with that.
Over all I feel that food service, in particular, was poor. We went to one of their restaurants, Cagney's, 4 or 5 times for breakfast. Slowwww waiters! Had to go looking for someone more than a couple times. Had to ask twice for tomato juice. Had to ask for butter even though they brought the toast we wanted, duhhhhh. One time in their main buffet/dining area I asked a wait person for tomato juice. He brings me ketchup packets.
The cabin was OK. The balcony was more like a front porch, at least the same size as the cabin. Our cabin was on deck 9 below the navigation bridge. We had a view of port and starboard sides of the ship.
