My husband and I have just returned from a 20 night cruise on MSC Lirica. We are both senior citizens and this was the fourth cruise we have taken with MSC. Embarkation in Genoa was quick and efficient and we found the ship to be elegant, well looked after and comfortable. We found all the staff very pleasant, helpful and courteous. Our inside cabin was quite roomy and comfortable and well looked after by our steward. Our request for a table for two in the dining room was arranged without any problem and our waiter, Bayron and his female assistant were charming, efficient and friendly. Their language skills were quite impressive. The food in the dining room was generally good, although the main courses were sometimes disappointing with tough meat. The ice cream though was always delicious! Gala Nights, the Italian Night and the Baked Alaska Parade were really good.

We enjoyed most of the shows in the theatre which were all well attended. One performance did cause some concern, however, the Staff Talent Show. The seating for this was quite inadequate, combining both first and second sittings from the dining room. This resulted in people sitting on the steps in the aisles. Had there been an emergency nobody would have been able to get out - an accident waiting to happen!

I enjoyed the aerobics classes and also the dance classes held on deck (music a bit loud though). These were well supported and credit must be given here to the Animation Team who created an atmosphere of fun from the moment guests boarded the ship. They worked tirelessly from the moment we boarded the ship until we disembarked. They were all great and did everything they could to ensure all guests had an enjoyable cruise.
