We haven't been on an RC cruise in 10 years and hadn't had a vaca in 5, so did this one up right. Booked a royal suite smack dab in the middle of the stern, all unlimited premium beverage packages, even parked our car in the airport close-in parking instead of long-term. We're going all out!

The first thing we noticed was the upholstery in the suite, the couches both were so stained they were brown even though the true color was green, and the pillows were torn with stuffing coming out. Ruh roh not good for a suite. Later we discovered the coffee maker didn't work either, took 4 days to get a replacement. But the view and air conditioning were very good.

Food was typical what we remember from the last cruise- in the main dining room was over-rated french style selections, the first night we each ordered steak and lobster ($35 each). The lobsters were pathetic DO NOT ORDER LOBSTER. Maybe 1-1-2 ounce of meat in the tail, I don't know if it's due to the fact they are flash flozen in boil bags or just lobsters have shrunk over the the years (not! I'm being sarcastic). Later in Chops Grille the waiter tried upselling lobster and we had him bring some of the frozen tails out, they are all that small. DO NOT ORDER LOBSTER. Shrimp yes, especially in Chops, but not lobster (shrimp in Chops are the same size as the lobster and you get 4). The steaks were very good, probably prime or choice but very tender and well cooked.

Royal Family Suite

Cabin FS

Worn out upholstery, coffee maker didn't work first 4 days, occasional soot on balcony meant it was unusable for a couple hours in the morning. Decks were never washed of soot so always tracked it in. 3 TVs and 2 bathrooms and extra storage area was very nice. Would not stay in this room again.

Port Reviews

King's Wharf

Self excursion of jet ski was great!

St. Thomas

Booked an offshore fishing trip that was awesome. The port itself is typical.

St. Maarten

Best port of the trip. Booked a snorkeling excursion that due to rough seas visibility wasn't very good, got to see a lot of turtles, remoras and others. Very clean port, am considering coming back to St.M for a resort stay.

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

Dirty and traffic is terrible but it's New Jersey so not bad considering.
