Sail Date: Sep 2015
Cabin: Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

I (we) knew what we wanted in a new ship experience and the Anthem of the Seas exceeded our expectations. We enjoy "new" and "different," as opposed to a more traditional sailing (which we also enjoy, but that's not what we were going for on Anthem). We loved everything about the ship. It was beautiful, fun, even exciting, with the IFly, bumper cars, North Star, etc. and we never had a dull moment. Entertainment was very good with a stand out show for us, "The Gift." The production value was excellent. The hypnotist's show was hysterically funny as well.

Our service was outstanding throughout the 14 day cruise all around: cabin attendant Maria on deck 7, the dining room(s) and Windjammer crew(s), Customer Service, Tour Desk...cant' say enough about the excellent service we received at every turn.

270 is a wonderful venue, as was the cafe within it, and Devinly Decadence, within the Solarium, was also delicious and the service was fantastic.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D8

Beautiful balcony cabin with great views since it sticks out so you can see the bridge and the back of the ship. No view obstruction at all and the cabin is right at the elevators, mid-ship, quite, no noise from the elevator,s and Maria, the cabin attendant was excellent. Since this is a long ship the location was perfect both vertically and horizontally. I think anyone who selects this cabin will be very happy with their choice.

Port Reviews

Gibraltar

We hired a van with other's from the ship (people we didn't know, but who were interested in doing their own tour without the ship's excursions). We toured the cave, the top of the rock, the apes area, the Siege Tunnels, the Castle, and walked the town ourselves, before walking back to the ship. A wonderful day!

Cartagena (Spain)

We walked all day on our own...saw the Roman Amphitheatre, the anthropoligical area, the town and stores. A very nice day!

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Since we had toured Rome before, we paid for a bus to take us to the train station. We hopped on a Train to the Termini Station in Rome and walked all day, all the way to Piazza del Popolo by way of the Spanish steps. Then did the same in reverse back to the ship.

La Spezia (Cinque Terre)

We took a city bus to the train station and then took the train to four of the five Cinque Terre - Monterosso, Vernazza, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. This was one of the highlights of our cruise and it was very easy to do it on our own.

Vigo

We walked in the rain around town, to the fort, and to the oyster/seafood restaurant area. It was Sunday, so everything was closed except for restaurants, tourist shops near the ship, and hotels to view. An enjoyable day!

Marseille

We took a cab, with others' we didn't know, but who wanted to get into town without a ship's tour. We then walked for a few hours before taking La Petit Train up to the Cathedral for the view and a brief tour. It was perfect!
