This is our 18th cruise and # 15 with Royal Caribbean. Our first Voyager class ship and also the largest ship we have been on (the largest before this was the Norwegian Star). The ship was in very good shape for being 15 years old. I have seen reports that the ship is in bad shape, but do not agree. Think about it: these ships are running 24/7 for years before getting a dry dock or renovation and some wear and tear is going to happen. Sure some elevator buttons are a bit broken but still work, but that does not bother us at all. Overall the ship is gorgeous and very easy to navigate like all of the RCI ships. Loved the Royal Promenade and pool deck. As always the crew and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. That is the # 1 reason we keep sailing with Royal Caribbean. Our itinerary was St Thomas, St Kitts, Aruba, and Curacao. We had 2 days at sea. A wonderful Southern Caribbean itinerary. Overall I would recommend this cruise.
We had 7206, Starboard side and in the front of the ship overlooking the bow. LOVED this cabin. Same price as the other Cat H outside cabins but with 1/3 more space and 2 windows facing forward. Great views while sailing and docking. Would choose this again. The only other cabin that would be better is a balcony cabin, but of course they cost a little more.
Arrived in San Juan the day before and stayed at the Atlantic Beach Hotel. A 3 star hotel. Nothing fancy, but was right on the beach (Condado beach). Good location and walking distance to restaurants and stores. Had a Cubano sandwich at Aceras. Vey good!
Went to Cockeshell beach /Reggae beach. Very nice, but next time may try another beach. Did some shopping afterards.
Nice cave tour and then off to Mambo beach. One of the nicest beaches on our cruis.e
