When I boarded the ship on Sat., 8/8, I immediately noticed the lack of enthusiasm on the part of the employees. In the past, even if they had to "fake it to make it," there was a level of excitement about being boarding the vessel on which you were about to live for a week. Very rarely during the week did employees greet guests with their "Good moring!" or "My pleasure." and a smile. (I can't speak about the Haven as I was not in that section of the ship.) Bartenders were unpleasant and less than interactive. Waiters, except for Leon D'Cuhna in the complimentary restaurant Savour, were just as bleh as all other employees.
Entertainment was a big disappointment. I saw Mark Viera, the only true professional in this category. He is a comedian, and laugh you did!!! The main stage production, Legally Blonde, has been done some many times, you able to see Elsie's roots by now.
The ship itself is big but lacks glitz and glamour. The adult area, Spice H2O, deck 16, was a retreat from the entitled kids that screamed and raced down hallways as though they were running for their lives. If you are sensitive at all the poor air, avoid the middle of the ship. The smoke and fumes from the casino overpower any breather. In fact, you can actually see the cancerous haze that monopolizes the atrium. While there are NO SMOKING slots and tables, what's the point, really? All in all, the most excitement this past week was when the capital came on the loud speaker and announced that a passenger had died on board. Sad!
Cabin was an accessible one. However, the attendant, Rosita, was TERRIBLE. She did nothing. When I mean nothing, I include things like empty to trash bin, wash the bathroom floor, vacuum. What else is she suppose to do? She was very sweet, but incompetent. The cabin door broke. I reported it to her on 8:45 a.m. By 3 p.m., the door was still broken. I called, and there was no record of Rosita placing the work order.
