It had been 11 years since our last cruise, preferring to vacation at our time share in Mexico. Our neighbors talked us in to cruising again, and we were not disappointed.

The Silhouette is a beautiful ship. It is easy to get around. The crew is very friendly and always greets you warmly, except for a couple of grouchy bartenders which I will mention later. We opted for the 4 night specialty dining package and were not disappointed except for the Lawn Club. The Lawn Club is located on the top deck and features BBQ selections. The food (filets) and service were excellent, but the ambiance was awful. The tables are very close together, and the acoustics are terrible. Because of the glass, wood and plastic there was nothing to absorb the sounds. To make matters worse, they pipe in this "modern" music that gives you indigestion and prevents you from having a conversation with your table mates. Not worth the time or money. The Murano, QSine and Tuscan Grill were wonderful. Excellent food, service and ambiance. We dined in the MDR 3 nights and requested the same waiter. Ronald our waiter and his assistant Raimon were great. We never had to wait for a course. As soon as we were finished, more food came out. There was a great selection on the menu, and the lobster was one of the best we have had. Our table was in the corner and we enjoyed conversing with the diners next to our table. All in all a great dining experience. Not sure if we will take the specialty dining package again.

Classic beverage package offered a varied selection of drinks. Our favorite lounge for pre dinner cocktails was the Ensemble Lounge. It is located on Deck 5 before the entrance to 3 specialty dining restaurants. It was nice to sit, have a cocktail and talk with our fellow travelers about their day until the music started. Needless to say, it was not conducive to conversation. Very loud!! and not pleasing except maybe for the guitar player. Celebrity should ramp it up for the later bar crowd and not for mature diners that wish to enjoy a cocktail and conversation. They also mixed the best drinks. We found that the same mixed drinks tasted different at different bars. You never knew what to expect if you tried another bar. The bartenders and servers were pleasant and attentive except for the three "grouchies" at the Pool Bar, Mast Bar and Lawn Bar. They seriously need a lesson on customer service. My husband even witnessed one customer at the Pool Bar tell the bartender to lighten up but he did not. They also were short staffed at the Pool Bar.
