If you're expecting the Ritz Carlton at sea, then you'll be sorely disappointed, however you're not paying Ritz Carlton prices. If you expect the Hampton Inn at sea, then you'll have a marvelous cruise.
Don't arrive at the cruise terminal much before 12:00 with you car, as you won't be allowed in to parking. The cost for 5 days parking is $85 cash or credit card ... it made no difference to your wait time.
Boarding takes a while, the terminal is not really a cruise terminal at all, just a re-purposed warehouse facility (good job it's a small ship).
The cabins are older, but well appointed.
There's 2 hanging closets, one full length shelf closet plus a set of shallow drawers (6 I think).
Beds can be either twin or King Size (2 twins pushed together). REMEMBER TO CHOSE YOUR CONFIGURATION ON THE CARNIVAL SITE PRIOR TO SAILING.
The bathroom is a simple shower, sink and WC configuration with nowhere to put stow toiletries. We kept ours in a bag on the floor.
The room was kept spotless by our steward Eduardo for the duration of the cruise.
The picture window was nice, but as I've read in other reviews it could do with an exterior clean!
Charleston is a beautiful historic City, take a few days before or after your cruise to explore this beautiful city. There are plenty of plantations and historic houses to see. The beaches are far away, at The Isle Of Palms, Sullivans Island and Folly Beach .... not really accessible from downtown.
