My wife and I took a 5 night cruise out of Bayonne, NJ bound for Canada. I had always wanted to see the Bay of Fundy, with its 40 foot tidal drop in a matter of hours. Our stops were in St. John, NB, and Halifax, NS.

The embarkation was smooth as silk. On a clear, cool night, pulling out of the berth and heading out to sea while passing under the Verrazano Bridge was magic. The ship was big, and gorgeous. Our cabin had a private balcony. It was small but nicely appointed. The food and service on board the ship were spectacular. There was certainly no shortage of food. And up on deck 11 was our own Johnny Rockets.

The first day at sea was great. Air was cool, the sea was beautiful....lots of dolphins and a few whales were spotted. St. John was a small, friendly place. We booked a small boat trip on board the Voyager, which went through the rapids of the tidal flow of the Bay of Fundy. Very cool trip, but I slipped on a steep, wet ramp, and figured I sprained my ankle. It was low tide, so the ramp at the city dock was extremely steep. Took a taxi back to the ship, where I was brought on board in a wheel chair. Visited the ship's doctor, who informed me I had a bad sprain. Needed to elevate my ankle, and spend a lot of time in the cabin. The cabin service was exemplary, as they even brought my dining room dinners to my cabin, so I didn't miss out on the excellent food.
