This ship was huge! We had cruised on the Epic also, and somehow liked that ship better. We can't put our finger on why, but the Getaway was very noisy, and it seemed like the walks to the elevators were very long.

All in all, the crew was great, our room was kept clean, the food was great, especially in the specialty dining restaurants. The ports were OK. Typical Caribbean islands. Loved St. John!! Would recommend going there. St Maarten was really, really dirty. Our excursion for lunch "on the beach" to Orient Beach was so pathetic. The welcome punch was a half filled plastic cup. The lunch on the beach was a buffet in an area on the beach. That was terrible. It was "one plate one person" so you had no choice of getting salad first and then getting desert at the end. You had to pile it all up on one plate. It was not good.

I bought a pass for the week to the spa on board. That was superb! I loved it!

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom

Nice cabin, but small balcony. On the Epic, the balcony was much larger. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room steward did a great job cleaning up. Next time we would make sure we were closer to an elevator.
