This is pretty much a repeat of last January's trip. Some might find it repetitious, but missing 5 ft. of snow to enjoy 14 days in the Caribbean, well I'll take repetitious!

We departed from the Port of Miami(my first time)Before it was Ft.Lauderdale, where we've done several Cunard trips as well. The port facilities were fine. A/C helped keep the temps reasonable. It was busy as many arrived before their scheduled arrive time. This is a new tactic by Celebrity, to have a "staggered" arrive time. In theory it would work, but with many of us who overnighted in hotels, you have to be out by 11:00AM. So unless you want to drag around lots of luggage, you head to the terminal. We were on board in about an hour. Not being in Concierge class or a suite, we muddled through the lines. Once on board we were able to get to our room quicker than last year. Luggage arrived about an hour after us. Very smooth. We did lunch in Ocean View Cafe. Quick & easy. It's a bit hectic for first timers, but after your first time, it's pretty much routine. Dinner the fist night was a bit hectic(which we expect)The staff "rotates" around the MDR after each cruise, so I think it takes them a bit of getting used to. Vadym & Bernadette took great care of us through the trip. We will request them next year(if they're on board)Food overall was very good to a few times excellent. The only fish I don't really like is Talapia, so I ordered Salmon that particular night. As a note, the portions are smaller than last year, but extras, if you wished were no problem at all. Food in Murano & Qsine were excellent as well. We also did a lunch in Murano & Tuscan Grill as well. The Lobster in Murano's lunch was over cooked, something all of us noted. The rest of the food there was excellent, however. The Souffle' dessert was outstanding. We did one lunch in Bistro on 5. It was excellent. We kind of advise them on the crepes. The staff was as excellent as last year. We did note some cutbacks, that we felt caused them to rush around a lot more.Bernadette, our asst.waiter did much more carrying of food trays than assisting the diners. The room attendants had everything under control as well. We tend to be pretty neat,so we didn't give them a ton of work to do. I did not see the "towel" animals as last year. I think this is due to them having a few more cabins to clean. Though, some pax make a big deal about towel animals, it's not a problem with us. tHer were no nightly pillow chocolates, Oh the humanity of it!(Just kidding) We hear that due to the amount of complaints, they will be coming back to a pillow near you!

We did find the entertainmaint to be excellent overall. Great shows. The comedians, especially Dan Wilson(hysterical)were great. The magicians(especially Ping Fei Su)were great as well. Did miss Perry Grant, as he was on vacation. The musicals were nice as before. Really quite razzel dazzel type shows. One was like a Cirque De Solei. Very nice. It's where you first saw Ping Fei Su.

Cabin Review

Cabin delux inside

Room was on deck 9. Unlike last year the room is down a separate hallway. Room is nice, but really lacks in storage for long trips. The bed was very comfortable, but the mattress curves along the end of the bed,due to room shape. My feet tend to stick out,& I'm only 5'-9" tall. Bathroom is very well equipped, with good storage for personal hygiene items. Shower is very good with curving glass doors that you pull together. Not a huge enclosure, but better than many of those with shower curtain. Overall a pretty comfortable room. Perhaps next time we'll do an ocean view. We've usually done Veranda or even suites, but the inside rooms are very reasonable, allowing you to spend on other things..such as shopping on board.
