Great cruise with neighborhood friends. Out of the 6 of us, 3 had never cruised before. Drove to Galveston the morning of, parked across from the terminal at Galveston Park n Cruise - inside parking. Check-in was crowded, as it was lunch time. One of our group had problems - apparently they forgot to take her pic & finish activating her S&S card. Small delay there. Cabins were ready when we boarded, so we unpacked & went to grab some lunch & check out the ship. It's a beautiful ship. Staff was great. Hendri was our room steward. He kept our drinks iced down & our cabin spotless. We did your time dining. Had 4 different tables through the week. Our favorite waiter was Juan. He was attentive & quick. Loved the ropes course. Mixed feelings on the water slides - water was really cold, which wasn't a big deal because the trip is quick. Problem was that the seams in the water tubes are uncomfortable on tailbones. Actually got scrapes from them. Serenity area is very nice, but would love if it had a pool (not necessarily in January, but in warmer weather). Hot tubs were not even what I would consider warm. Didn't use them because of that. Bummer. Comedians were good - I really enjoyed their shows. I like the outside decks on deck 5. It's so nice to have comfortable seating where you can enjoy the fresh air & see the water. I wish this ship had Guy's Burgers and Blue Iguana Cantina (great breakfast).

Good cabin - quiet location as far as ship noise goes. We had horrible people upstairs that sounded like they were jumping off the furniture & onto the floor. Not Carnival's fault. This cabin is not too far from the aft stairs/elevators, so it's very convenient for going up to Lido for breakfast/lunch. Not crazy about the card slot to keep lights on in cabin, although I understand why they do that. We had an old RCCL card that we had brought for the safe & just kept it in the slot. We were responsible & turned out the lights when leaving the cabin. The safe used a keypad, so it was nice not having to keep up with a card or pass it back & forth when only one of us was going back to the cabin for something. Beds are still too hard for me, but obviously I survived.
