We just returned from our 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruise on the beautiful and FUN Norwegian Getaway, and let me tell you, it was AWESOME. The best cruise we've ever taken, the best ship we've ever been on, and if you can't have fun on this ship, you don't deserve to take a vacation!

To give you a little bit of background about us -- we are in our 30s, have traveled the world, and like to go out, have a good time, and eat good food. We are NOT easy to please...in fact, I think we're pretty discriminating travelers. We've taken cruises in the past (NCL, Celebrity, Royal, HAL, & Princess), and left them all feeling a little blah...the food wasn't great, the energy wasn't that great, etc, etc. etc. We were excited to try the Getaway having heard all the great things but also prepared, after this trip, to write off cruising all together as just not for us.

From the moment we stepped foot on the ship, we could tell that this trip would be head and shoulders above our other cruises. Embarkation was seamless, there was a band playing in the atrium to welcome us aboard, and drinks flowed instantly thanks to the Ultimate Beverage Package that was included in our cruise fare. I must say it was the most diverse group of travelers we've ever sailed with - young families, multi-generational groups, groups of young adults and couples traveling together, retirees, blacks, whites, Cubans, and Asians...this ship was a floating Will Smith song!
