Review for the Southern Caribbean Cruise on Explorer of the Seas

My DW and I were so looking forward to this getaway. We had a balcony cabin 6290. I tried to book so many things prior to our leaving and could not. Okay, Royal Caribbean said corporate was not listening to what sales was saying. Okay, I get that. When I finally was able to book things, I bought a little something for night three, four, five and ten. To my surprise, everything was delivered in ten minute intervals on night three. I went to guest services, they told me I must have put the information in wrong. Amazing, they got the day ten thing right! No attention to detail.

I booked the three night deal at Portofino's, our luggage didn't make it to the cabin by the time we were to go to dinner, and I was a little self conscious about eating there in our traveling close, but the meal was superb as always. I requested, and was approved by Royal, a table for two, first seating (no wait list). I say this because of the garbage my TA was given when I told her about what they did. It was so nice of them to put me at a table for twelve. We missed the first night (we were at Portofino's) and if we asked to change after the second night it looks like we were not pleased with our table mates. It wasn't them. We wanted US time. Now, Royal said it was at capacity, but that was amazing because we could see three empty table for two's from where they stuck us. We were at table 341 (or better known as the entrance door). Our waiters and even the side captain were exceptional. Thank you gentlemen.

At this point, I want to commend each and every member of the crew, as to the way they handled our rogue wave. I never truly felt like our life was in any danger. Professionals!

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D2

The cabin couch and chair had some awful stains on them when we arrived. Day twelve, I got a notice that someone was going to come in to remove the stains. I told them not to bother as I would lose the use of the couch for the two remaining days at sea (I had this happen the last time I was on the Explorer, and they decided to paint our Balcony and we couldn't use it. Royal did nothing for us.)
