Booked the Alaska Cruise for our 50th Anniversary bringing a total of 18 people!! Rooms were OK but a little tired.....our room, aft suite, was nice with a huge balcony. Service on board was courteous and friendly but occasionally we would get a disgruntled employee. At times there was a fairly significant language barrier.
Food was just average to poor at (overcooked, goopy, dried out)......we were somewhat spoiled since we recently did two Regent Cruises! Also at times the service was very , very SLOW! They also ran out of diet soda, two different Pinot Noirs! We also did not like the incessant advertising of shops in the ports of call.....owned by cruise companies. Watch out for arcade room as kids can play using their room key!
All in all, we had a great family trip but something needs to be done about service and food in main dining rooms (we did not try specialty rest.) or they will loose business. Also, they automatically add a 15% gratuity to all drinks.......it should be included in daily service charge.
Room was nice with a huge balcony. Bathroom with tub/shower was nice....other amenities adequate. Room was very noisy when docking and using side thrusters.....sometimed very early in AM
