Let me start this review with there are several poor reviews of this ship on this site as well as Carnival’s site, not sure what ship these people were on, the Sunshine is fabulous!

Arrived to NOLA 1 day early and stayed at the Hilton Riverside which worked out well. Walking distance to Bourbon street and only 5 minute car ride to port parking. Embarkation went very smoothly, arrived at port around 11:00am, never stopped moving and was on the ship around noon. Stateroom was ready around 1:30 and luggage arrived by 4:00. Upon walking the ship a couple times, we were familiar with the layout and knew how to navigate around. Just remember you can’t go front to aft on Decks 3&4, knowing that will save a lot of unnecessary walking.

The food in the MDR was the usual Carnival standards, service was excellent, and dessert was always great. Seemed dinner got faster as the week went on, but we never waited long and we had all 14 of us at one table! The other food venues on the ship were great, don’t miss Guy’s or JiJi’s bowls for lunch! Breakfast in the Havana bar is a must as well, the omelets are excellent! Food exceeded expectations.
