My husband and I boarded the Celebrity Millennium on Nov 20th in Sydney(Australia) for a 17 day tour up the east coast of Australia then to Bali and Singapore. This was our second Celebrity cruise this year- the other on Celebrity Reflection for a tour of the Mediterranean. For the first (and last) time we chose an inside cabin. Although adequate there were a few "design" faults that annoyed me, but may be ok with others,

Anyway, the ship itself is ;lovely, the staff excellent, the food was wonderful and the entertainment was superb- with new entertainers nightly. THere were several people on board who were physically impaired, mobility wise and many who were well over 70, For those people I felt very sorry for. The only free entertainment was 1) the gym. 2) shuttle board,3) dance classes 4) Trivia. Everything else you paid for. Spa treatments were expensive and plus 15%, drinks were all plus 15%- no free water in cabins and the tap water was foul. I ended up taking a cardboard cup to the dining room and filling it from the "free" water there and taking it back to my cabin, as my husband had tablets to take daily. Bingo(3 games) cost me $39 US dollars. Beware your onboard account will very soon be over a $1000.

Watch out when choosing your cruise if the ports have to use tenders, Sydney was right at Circular Quay and fantastic. Brisbane was a disgrace- an old grain terminal and a $65 one way taxi fare into the city(because the ship was too big to dock at Brisbane). Airlie Beach was also a tender, but the tours were ok value for money. Caiirns was also a tender port, but because we had been there before we got a two day pass for a shuttle bus ($28 us each), Darwin we were docked right at the port and took a city tour which was ok. Then came Bali- WHAT A RIP OFF1 All the tours were posted early on in the cruise so we had booked for a 5 hour, do your own thing in Kuta(been to Bali before 3 times but always by air). The ship was meant to anchor (tender boat again) at 8am, so we chose the tour that left at 10am. Well the ship actually arrived an hour earlier. However, we got the tender into Benoa, then were met by a nice deluxe coach and a gudie who gave us a bottle of water and a batik hat. We were then taken to the Centro shopping centre , arriving at 11 am. we were told to be back at 1.30. Everyone protested so finally we wee told we had to be back as he was leaving at 2pm on the dot. When we said we had been told 5 hours (last tender boat was at 6,45 pm) he said that included transfer time. So what did this 3 hour, do your own thing cost us? $120 US PLUS $50 US for the visa (Which you had to pay whether you left the ship or not), So all up it cost us $170US for 3 hours. NOT HAPPY. Why could not the bus have left at 4.30? Then we met people who had taken a taxi from Benoa to Kuta for $25 aust for 2 people. Read more
