Sail Date: Nov 2013

We have to agree with everything the previous people wrote about this cruise on board the Millenium from Sydney in November 2013. The itinery was fantastic but after having done thirty plus cruises with probably all their competitors we thought we would give Celebrity a try. Big mistake! Longest check in ever even though we were Concierge class it took hours. We have checked in at Sydney before with RCL and that was efficient and fast. Cabins were lack lustre and tired looking. We had to request at least over three days for the additional items that Concierge class is meant to bring, eg binoculars, robes and tote bag. These items we did not bring ourselves because of the Concierge inclusion so missed being able to view islands from our balcony etc. Very annoying!

The poor quality of food in the buffet restaurant and the dreadful way it was served with hot spoon handles, some very untrained staff and a general feel of mayhem made this by far the worst experience we have ever had on board a cruise in the self service restaurant. Even the fixed dining was not up to P&O, Princess or Holland & America standard. Although our waiters were very good, the food and the chinaware was not five star by any means

The previous review had mentioned how Celebrity seemed intent on grabbing every dollar they could from their passengers and we one hundred percent agree with them. The charges for shuttles were really high with the timing to coincide with tenders not even thought about, leaving people "stranded" ashore for over an hour at midnight because Celebrity just couldn't get their planning together. Then finding out that every person on board was charged $25 for a visa in Bali even if they weren't going ashore was a disgrace. Aren't these usually included as port charges and payable by the cruise line?
