This was promoted as a Culture and Wine Legacy of the Rhine cruise with a wonderful wine host named Holly Howell. She will be doing another one next year so if you'd like to learn more about Rhine produced wines, as well as Finger Lakes, NY wines, do try this fun cruise on an excellent ship with extraordinary crew. The on board wine tastings were well done. We learned a lot and had fun too. The wine tastings at some large tasting rooms were less interesting. Skip those and do some private tastings on your own in one of the many tasting rooms in some of the towns. Yes, it was cold and dreary in N. Europe, but there were no crowds in the interesting port stops along the way. They were setting up for the Christmas Markets, and I shudder to think of the crush in a week.

This was a lovely well appointed cabin with plenty of storage space and a beautiful bathroom with a great shower. Due to it's location forward on the top deck, however, I think we experienced more "people traffic" noise than had we chosen one further aft. (A little more courtesy from passengers traveling the corridors at early and late hours would be welcome!)

The shore excursions, included in the cruise, were mostly very good, but we sometimes chose to wander about a town exploring by ourselves. The meals were all very good with a nice balance of meat, fish and vegetarian choices well prepared and served hot. There were healthy choices at all meals, and also lots of marvelous desserts! Our only complaint was the choice each meal of only one white wine or one red wine. One evening, a very sweet white wine was the only offering with my fish, so I chose the drier red wine. We felt that especially on a "wine themed" cruise, more choices should have been offered.
