For those booked on the Carnival Sunshine when it arrives in the Caribbean you are in for a treat! We recently returned from the 9 night Western Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona to Venice, calling at Marseille, Livorno, Civitavecchia, Naples, Messina, Dubrovnik and Venice.

This ship has all the usual Carnival fun and hospitality, but in a lovely package. The refit has been very well done, all the new features are stylish, practical and suit the Carnival experience. We have previously cruised on the Carnival Victory and this ship was similar but just that bit shinier. Because this was the last time the ship will travel this itinerary I will concentrate my review on the ship itself.

Atrium

Cabin Review

This room is situated on the port side forward, just off the main atrium stairs and lift area. The room is spacious and very well furnished, there is more than enough storage. The bed when put together to make a King is huge. The balcony was situated just over the gangway when we docked port side. Perfect for those who love the last minute rush and watching the late comers before setting sail. The only point I would say is if you are a light sleeper on the nights that the Liquid Lounge turns into a nightclub you can hear it slightly. Though if you are not down there joining in you will probably be so tired from all the other activities going on you'll sleep soundly anyway.
