My husband and I took our first cruise on HAL MS Eurodam. We booked an SC Suite Guarantee. I am in my early 40's and he is in his early 30's. We brought 8 bottles of champagne(always do it right) aboard and pre purchased a bottle of rum, 2 nights at Pinnacle Grill, a couple of shore excursions and a drink card.
To begin with I was a little nervous that I would hate the whole cruise thing and end up spending 7 days afloat on the ocean in a terrible mood with no escape. My concerns were completely unfounded. We boarded and were promptly shown to our suite. All of our pre purchases were in the room, in addition to a complimentary bottle of champagne and a bottle of sparkling water. Our room stewards introduced themselves. I forget their names now, they were very good and very attentive.
First we received an aft-facing suite. The balcony was amazing, the view was amazing and I will never sail in another type of room if it can be helped. We enjoyed many a bottle of champagne just watching the water. It was so relaxing, no crowds, no nothing, just us, bubbles and the ocean.
Cabin Review
Our cabin was category SB aft facing Neptune Suite. The suite was had plenty of room for the two of us. There is a separate dressing area and a large bathroom with a double sink vanity, a bathtub/shower and a separate shower. The best part of the room is the large wrap around balcony. The view, amount of space and privacy is amazing. We will do our best to only sail in aft-facing suites going forward.The perks of having the suite were also good. We had very attentive room stewards. Fresh flowers, fresh fruit and laundry service is included, not going home with a bunch of dirty clothes, awesome. The neptune lounge with personal concierge service, light snacks offered throughout the day, cappuccinos whenever you like and a quiet place to relax, fantastic.
