Traveled with children

We traveled last week on Disney Fantasy from Port Canaveral to St. Maarten, St. Thomas and Castaway Cay. We had taken a five night cruise on the Dream last year in the same type room. We were in 11014 this year and our kids and their tots were in 11018 and 11020. One improvement over the Dream was the absence of the metal gate you had to unlock to enter our hallway on the Dream. We thought it was tacky and unnecessary. The rooms were great. Our kids had the wall between their balconies opened so they could move easily between the rooms and share the large balcony space. It was great with their toddlers.

Last year we were in 11008 which is next to the expanded balcony suites. They could easily look into our balcony and perhaps our room since their balcony extended out further than ours. The suites are great with tons of storage, a living area, dining area and bedroom. We enjoyed the second small bath as my husband and I often showered at the same time. Our kids utilized the second bath by putting the pack and play in there so their babies had a quiet room to sleep in.

We really appreciate the ease of traveling on the concierge level. The three on our cruise were Alice, Kameisha, and PJ. All were helpful and gracious. We often had all four tots in the concierge lounge. They acted like they love children and were unaffected by spilled drinks.

Cabin Review

One great closet, two tiny closets that you have to hang your clothes sideways so you can only easily see the item in front. My husband complained about that all week. Great layout, super quiet room, great service, great hair dryer, good showers. The big bathroom has a tv in the mirror so that mirror is way too dark to use for putting on makeup. There is a dressing table though with good lighting and mirror. I didn't like the mattress but loved the pillows. The space under the mattress is open so you can stow your luggage there. The suites include aloe vera gel along with shampoo and such. All rooms should get the gel.
