We drove down from West, Texas on Saturday and stayed at the Super 8 in Kemah and would not recommend that hotel at all. While we were out for dinner someone came into our room and used our bathroom and the front desk would do nothing about it also our dead bolt would not work. We had to stack our suitcases in front of the door just for a little protection, but enough about that.

We arrived at the port at around 10:30 dropped off two of us with luggage while the other two took the car to the Park N Cruise which was just across the street from the port, very convenient. Were checked in and on board by 12 noon. Embarkation was very easy and without issue other than we had brought 2 bottles of wine, which RC had said was allowable but they were confiscated just after we went through the metal detectors. At the check in counter we asked why and come to find out they were not suppose to take them from us so we were able to pick them back up and take them on board. It always pays to ask questions when something does not go the way you think it should.

We were in our room by 1 pm but no luggage until after 7 pm except my sisters. Hers did not show up until after 10 pm when we were already in bed. We were just thankful it finely showed up.

Cabin Review

Located to the rear of the ship corner balcony at the end of a very long hall. Quite location, just under the Windjammer but never heard anything. The cabin was bigger than a normal balcony cabin so worked out great for 4 women. The sofa made into almost a queen size bed but it was a little hard so we rotated between the twin beds and that worked out well. Lots of drawer space for us women and the closet held all cloths. We did, however, have to ask for more hangers even though we had brought extras. Bathroom was the same size as in a regular cabin so only one at a time could get in there. This was not a problem for us either. Our balcony was larger as well. We had two lounge chairs and two regular chairs with a small table.
