We are in our 3os no kids. Picked Mid Sept to avoid the tons of kids we heard about . The few kids on the ship were well behaved and often not seen about. Lots to do whether with or w/o kids. Lots of multi-generation families on board (grandparents-down to grandkids etc.).

We booked a Junior Suite w/balcony on the `hump and had extra balcony space and maybe a skosh more cabin space then non hump suites. The location of our suite was great for stairs & elevator. We def would only book this category or higher from now on. We chose mid ship as I get terribly seasick and ill. (I wore the patch which worked out for seasickness, but made me a 6`3 big man drowsy and irritable and very thirsty `cotton mouthed`). We lucked out and hurricane season weather we had no issues other than the 2nd night (Sat) when we were well south of Ophelia we did get some of her waves and it made the ship rock so that the production show was cancelled in favor of a singer due to the worry of the sway. (see entertainment). I was worried about the way the ship was only 2nd nite into 9 nights but that was the worst and all but the occasional rocking motion it was a real steady ride.

The cabin attendant (Emily) was very nice & always responded to our minimal requests by notes on pillow to her (we brought post it notes that worked out well & recommend). The room was always clean and made up and welcoming. On days I didn't feel well and put out the `dnd` sign she worked later than her hours when we left to get a meal or show just to make sure room was done. She left us towel animals on day 6/7/8 and were cute. Kudos to Emily & her asst. We had a GREAT large walk in closet with plenty of room for hanging clothes and shelves to place clothes on. In addition the vanity area w/hairdryer had TONS of drawers and shelves to put tons more clothes & goods in. We did not use the minibar with automatic sensors that charge you if you even move an item!. We did bring our own bottled water and used w/ice to save money but also we like Derr Park over the ships water & ship sells Dannon water which gives us a headache for some reason. Ice was always plentiful. Bring your own munchies and candies if want to save and also match those vacation off hour cravings. Room & cleanliness A+ . Through our own fault we kept waiting for a better last minute deal to come along and lost out on shipboard credits,so do yourself a favor book early.
