We sailed from Civitavechia/Rome on 15th September. Boarding quite painless, through check in less than 10 minutes. Went to our room and met our efficient, very friendly and attentive steward Abraham Lincoln from Trinidad. We had lunch at the Windjammer. The Windjammer for breakfast or lunch was something we did out of necessity. The quality of food was adequate (we enjoyed the omelette's) but the crowd of people made it uncomfortable.

The food in the main restaurant for breakfast and lunch was good and I enjoyed the salad bar and the service was excellent.

The food in the main restaurant, Top Hat and Tails, was good and usually hot, the service was average. I always add ice to my wine but every meal I had to request the ice except once (the day after the headwaiter was informed of our problems). One of our fellow diners at our table requested a cappuccino only to be told that the machine was broken. Also, someone at the table requested strawberries which were not on that days menu and was told it was not available, although it was available to the next table. A couple at our table made a complaint and for the rest of the cruise The headwaiter was informed of both of these items and for the rest of the cruise cappuccinos and strawberries arrived daily but it made the waiters nervous and made us uncomfortable.
