"Staff serving drink are also very friendly and do their best with a large number of passengers and multiple languages but it’s an area where a little training and more staff available would help.MSC have set times in MDR and no anytime option, this is a shame as sitting at the same table at the same time every night becomes a little repetitive...."Read More
I will start by acknowledging that most of the issues we experienced would not have occurred if I was traveling solo or with just my wife. But traveling with our five children, ages 6-21, caused many issues.
Overall, while the staff was mostly very friendly, they seemed to be inexperienced and/or undertrained. This was apparent right away during embarkation when they didn't want to let us on ...
The chaos for onboarding should've given us the picture, but we had paid and were committed. They gave us a time window to show up, we did. We waited 3 hours and 45 minutes, first hour and 30 of which were in grueling sun, just to get onto to the ship. It was a mad house.
Lines don't end there. Anything, food, shows, excursions are designed to create wait, lines and frustration.
Pretty much ...
A) Embarkation: MSC allows passengers to choose a timeframe for embarkation. It was very fast and efficient. We had 11:00 to 12:00, and by 11:40 AM we were already inside our cabin.
B) Cabin: extremely comfortable. Large, modern, spacious. Sofa is quite big for a ship cabin. Wardrobe and storage are limited, which is a little tough for a long trip like ours. Bathroom is modern and efficient. ...
We had a one week layover between two cruises in Barcelona and instead staying in hotels, decided to take this cruise.
We are an older couple with 60+ cruises under our belt. Based on the many negative reviews on this board, we did not set our expectations too high. But we were pleasantly surprised. This is a beautiful, modern ship with state with the art high tech features. It appears to ...
As a family we have cruised before with TUI, Royal Caribbean and Princess; this cruise was a trial mini cruise on MSC to see how they compared as we keep seeing some great deals being offered. We booked 3 cabins, all with drinks packages (3 adults, 2 teens).
We embarked at Palma, Mallorca after a night in a great hotel at Can Pastilla, the Hotel Helios (can highly recommend - has an ...
Our stateroom was a good size there were 3 of us staying in it, it never felt cramped. Enough wardrobe space and balcony was adequate. We asked for more pillows and got them. We asked for help connecting to WiFi customer services had it connected in minutes. My son (16) used it non stop and never complained about it being slow. I just used my roaming data as we were nearly always close enough to ...
My four children shared two cabins on the MSC Seaview in the Yacht Club so they weren’t bunking in with us. We were assured by MSC that “everything” was included. They couldn’t stress this enough. Yet they can’t get icecreams, or have any free inclusions in the games arcade. As they can’t drink the included alcohol this seems unreasonable. The staff are lovely and the rooms whilst not big are ...
SMOKING!!!
The stench of cigarette smoke onboard is disgusting. There is meant to be a smoking policy that restricts smoking to the starboard side of the ship and the casino. There is no smoking allowed in cabins of on balconies. Someone forgot to tell the majority of the staff as people were smoking anywhere they liked and the smell was awful. The only time I seen smokers being challenge was ...
This was our first cruise with MSC and was a bit hesitant after reading some of the reviews, but our experience was very positive. We booked a Deluxe Balcony Suite Aurea experience. First, the embarkation process was quick and seamless, we boarded in Civitavecchia, we were on board within twenty minutes from luggage drop off to check in. As this was our first cruise with MSC we had a few ...
MSC Seaview - HORRIBLE, RACIST, SEXIST.
MSC Cruise line is horrible. It was a waste of my time and money. Dealing with the reception and excursion staff is a little difficult because the communication with the MSC head office is not good, therefore lots of the staff don’t even know what’s going on. My assumption is that the problem is corporate and a lack of training. The cleaning and waitstaff ...
