We were a group of 19 grandparents, parents and grandchildren taking our first cruise together. We chose Carnival for their family friendly reputation. We chose the eastern Carribean cruise but Carnival had to cancel it and substitute a western Caribbean cruise on our chosen date which we couldn't alter. They offered a $100 per cabin on board credit which we were allowed to convert to actual ...
I have disabilities that made me think I could not cruise. Carnival proved me wrong. My ADA approved cabin was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the closet space was accessable. the bathroom was large enough for my power chair to turn around in. The crew was helpful with every aspect of my needs. Every crew member assisted me with anything I needed and always had a smile and a friendly ...
My wife and I have been on many cruises, so we thought we knew what to expect. We have cruised on Carnival, Princess, and Royal Caribbean. Before the pandemic, we would go on one to two cruises a year and have cruised on Carnival many times.
This was the first time we cruised out of Galveston, Texas. Getting to the ship was an adventure as it was about 1 hour from any airport. There are many ...
EMBARKATION: We live within two hours of the port, so it was an easy drive. Parked at Falstaff Cruise Parking and got a shuttle to the ship. The shuttle was a bit slow to get to the ship due to road blockages from the Dickens on The Strand event that was happening. Falstaff parking was fine, but they only run one shuttle per ship in port which means wait times can be long. Upon arrival at the ...
It has been 12 years since I last boarded a Carnival ship and, to be honest, I didn't know what to expect on this one. The Vista reviews on here have been very mixed and, as a senior travelling alone, I had concerns about a wild "party ship" with drunken brawls, noisy corridors and screaming children.
So, I am happy to report that I had a delightful cruise overall, finding lots of quiet spaces ...
This was our 6th cruise and our least favorite experience. The ship had some design flaws, i.e. the Liquid Lounge has horrible seating the rows are not elevated enough to see over people, the aisles are to narrow to walk, the ground floor is just common dining chairs with NO elevation at all. Plus the actual entertainment was underwhelming. Most singers were so off-key it was painful to listen to. ...
We booked this cruise for an exciting itinerary and to sail with friends. Just weeks before the sail date Carnival completely changed the itinerary citing engine issues and maintenance. A much less compelling itinerary. In talking with several crew members, the engine maintenance was scheduled months ago as part of a service contract. It feels like a bait and switch. I think Carnival ...
Port location, ease of embarkation and cost were the main reasons for choosing this ship. The itinerary was changed prior to embarkation - although disappointed, we proceeded with the cruise for the much needed family down time.
Embarkation was smooth. No hiccups. Because we were in suites, we were able to drop off our carryon bags in the room and leave (please leave the area as soon as ...
I'm done with Carnival after this last cruise. We booked a Havana cabana cabin which is supposed to be an exclusive area on the ship where no children under 12 are allowed, yet the first morning I'm awoken by a child screaming her lungs out in the middle of the hallway for her little brother to get out of her room. There were at least 3 children under 12 staying in rooms in just our hallway alone ...
It was cold, or it was luke warm which was miserable for showering or not. The toilet stopped flushing a few times and on the final day, the toilet was repaired and the sewage smell was awful. We received a $100 credit and an apology for not repairing the issues, but we were told that the water was fixed after the first time, which it was not. On some days the food was either decent or good and ...
