Queen bed. Note the drawers on the right. They could not open the whole way because they were so close to the bed.

"not so sure about that but it did keep the numbers down and made more space in the theatre Adult Comedy Shows I only saw 1 but I believe there was another so it wasn't every night which is a little dissappointing but the one I saw was very funny, from what I hear the one I missed may have been better Juggler / magician / comedian He was good, a little on the line of what he could get away with for a not enterly adult audience but he was entertaining Debarkation We carried off our own bags so absolutely no issue here, from the time we decided to leave until being out was no more than 10 minutes, that included waiting for the lift.Dragonlady I thought this was the pick of the free dining with a few more options of better food, nothing was fantastic and certainly not as good as it once was but it was OK, the pre diner shot is no longer served and the pre dinner vegie chips has become prawn crackers but they were happy for us to try a bit of everything that took our fancy and in fact they gave us a couple of things we hadnt ordered in case we wanted to try it...."Read More

Shabby ship and poor entertainment

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Pacific Explorer

Disappointed with this cruise. Weather was good and sailing was smooth. Loved that it was just a short cruise of four days and enjoyed the shore trips to Port Lincoln and Kangaroo Island however the ship is very old and tired and really shabby. Staff were mostly friendly and efficient but clearly overworked and tired. One cleaner told us they work 12 hour days for 7 days a week with no ...

We were on a 4 night sailing Adelaide-Pt Lincoln-Kangaroo Island-Adelaide in Feb 2024. Deck 10 balcony cabin. Cabin was dated. Loose tap in bathroom sink and one of the bedside lights non operational (although did turn itself on at 3am one morning). Food quality was good with the Dragon Lady and Angelo's restaurant excelling. Selection of different foods in The Pantry on Deck 14 but the ...

I chose an interior cabin. There should have been two travelling but I ended up solo. That was not a problem at all. I have travelled extensively by myself and carry a book everywhere. If I wanted a conversation, I could always find someone to talk with. If not, I read my book. Yes, the ship could do with an upgrade but it was kept spotlessly clean by the amazingly busy cleaning crew. My ...

I am on my last night of my 5 day cruise from Melbourne to Kangaroo Island and I have had the best time. The staff and crew have been nothing short of amazing. James and Leo who are bar staff in the Explorer lounge were brilliant. I can't believe i forgot his name but he was our amazing waiter from day one, he worked in the black circus as well as oasis. Honestly one of the most amazing humans i ...

Beautiful Ship but a few issues

We sailed out of Melbourne on a 'Tastes of Tasmania' Cruise on 15 January 2024 for 5 nights. Pacific Explorer is a beautiful ship with lots of lovely public spaces, so we had no issue on that front. But we had a few issues on this trip which spoiled things a little for us. Firstly, this was only our second cruise, our first time with P&O and our first time in a balcony cabin. It was a quad and ...

Comedy cruise

Never again, poor quality food, bad service, rubbish comedy, no BIG name comedians which I should have guessed when booking as they did not say who would be headlining. Never have I had such a small balcony cabin and have cruised several other cruise lines. DO NOT purchase internet, you will be lucky to have it a full day at a time. Very boring cruise and could not wait to get off. I have ...

The ship (Pacific Explorer) itself was old and dated but overall in fair condition. We booked an the cheap internal room - our plan was to only use it to sleep in and be using the "extensive" facilities at other times. The staff were very friendly As with all cruise lines they offered a combination of included restaurants and specialty ones. This ship however did not have a communial ...

We chose this cruise because it departed from Melbourne where we have relatives Pacific Explorer is rusty and shabby on the outside but bright and cheerful inside. Our porthole cabin was small but adequate and kept very clean by our friendly stewards. Guests need to be aware that anything extra in the way of food, drink etc. is charged at a top rate. The food quality was variable in ...

This was my 4th cruise, on 4 different cruise lines, so I feel qualified to make a review. I travelled with a friend; we are both active seniors who just wanted a week of relaxation before Christmas. We chose this cruise because it sailed out of Melbourne. We were not particular about the ports, which was just as well, as we didn't get to Kangaroo Island or Burnie due to rough weather. The ...

Just Don’t Do It!

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Pacific Explorer

We chose this cruise as it was just a short 5 day crossing from Auckland to Melbourne and after reading previous reviews we thought well just how bad can it be ……. Unfortunately it was very bad, the ship on the outside is a rust bucket, our balcony was tiny and filthy, the chairs were so dirty you couldn’t sit on them without putting a pool towel on them. Inside areas are better, bright, clean ...
