"Even the day of departure to the return home they had Viking staff at the airport to help us get our tickets, get our luggage checked in and make sure we knew where we were going to get to our flight, very helpful.Everything about the precruise, the cruise and the after cruise were great...."Read More
I cruise about 2x/year. Over the past few years, half of my cruises have been on Viking. The Christmas market cruise was my first Viking river cruise. While the Christmas markets were interesting, the cruise was hampered by the high river levels that prevented ships from travelling under bridges. (Last year when I considered a river cruise I passed since at the time the rivers in Europe were too ...
This was our first cruise of any sort and we wanted to experience the Swiss, German, and French Christmas Markets while being pampered on the beautiful Viking River ship Idi. However high water on the Rhine River due to previous heavy rains and snow melt caused flooding and prevented our ship from passing under bridges on the Rhine River. Instead we were bused to Strasbourg, France where our ship ...
1. Bed is old and small, size like a car seat.
2. The food is terrible in the first three days, a lot of leave off. They cook the leftovers for lunch. Lol
3. A few days need to wake up at 4am, because they request to put the luggage out at 5:30am. Crazy!!!
4. Excursion (included), everyday is church and Christmas markets. Sometimes church is small, Christmas markets is small like only 5 ...
This was our Third Viking River cruise and our 6th viking cruise....It will be our last! We chose this cruise because we had done a Viking Christmas Market cruise before and we had a credit left over from covid that was due to expire. In retrospect, I should have let the credit expire! Evidently this was a fairly new itinerary and, for sure, one that Viking new nothing about. In at least two ...
This was our first Viking River cruise, but surely not our last. We had previously cruised with Vantage River cruises who have now gone bankrupt. We have also cruised on many Ocean Cruises with other lines. I've got to say this was much better. The Rhine and Mozel were both flooded, making a real river cruise impossible but the crew did such a fantastic job, we hardly noticed.
Although we ...
We really enjoyed everything about this cruise. The ship was lovely and the staff on board was great. The sleeping accommodation was fine and the hotels in Paris and Zurich was perfect. The excursions at each port that were included were well done and gave a nice overview. We were able to cruise during the day and saw many castles along the Rhine river. We took the additional excursions to one ...
Shout out to everyone who helped us book and plan this amazing journey. We also loved that you managed to have perfect weather and river heights too. Every one on board made us feel so at home and pampered. We loved the food and getting to meet so many wonderful people. The pacing of each day helped us not feel rushed or board. We especially loved the time when we drifted on the river spotting ...
My wife and I LOVED our time with Viking. We extended before the Cities of Light Cruise by going to Warsaw. That was amazing to see and experience Poland, my wife's father's family immigrated from there after the American Civil War. The cruise was wonderful, we love how our hotel moves with us every day. We extended after the cruise as well for extra days in Paris to see sites we missed back ...
All the day trips were fun and amazing. Learned a lot, enjoyed the sights and got my money's worth. The room was very cramped, but manageable. Although the adds go on about a lot of crafts and cooking classes there was only one of each...a glass blower that was more of a sales event and one poorly done cooking demonstration. The crew was fantastic, but in the evenings, other than chatting and ...
Our second Viking River cruise did not disappoint. Knowing what to expect this time made packing and expectations easy. Our cruise director, captain and ship manager went above and beyond. Our weather was not up to par yet we couldn’t control that. The ship provided umbrellas for those rainy days and made sure excursions took into account the rain. The cruise was the right mixture of excursion and ...
