Windy Fun on the Grandeur

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

This was our fifth cruise on Grandeur and our first in a junior suite. We live an hour from the port of Baltimore and enjoy the fact that we do not have to fly to get to the terminal. As always we dropped off the luggage and sailed through the paper work quickly. We were on the ship from car to Centrum in 25 minutes. We went to the Park Cafe for lunch and then to our cabin, 8052. We loved the ...

This was cruise #69, we are in 60's cruising since 1984. We sail several lines and honestly are unhappy on what cruising has become. An airline corporate operation at sea. Business model now find a new thing to charge for, eliminate, or raise price of daily! That said, this ship better than most! Baltimore great for departing from. Grandeur staff EXCELLENT. This would have been a 5 rated cruise id ...

Cruising is the best vacation! (for me)))

I choose the cruise because of the itinerary - Charleston, Miami, Nassau, private island and i always wanted to try Royal Caribbean. It just didn't happen for us. Carnival, NCL, but never on RCI. So, we even drove to Baltimore from NY. The ship is relatively small and we understood it before made a decision. But i agree with all reviewers of the ship before me - the crew is very friendly, ...

Didn't have to fly

The best part of the cruise was we didn't have to fly. We live close enough and only takes an hour to get to the pier. Embarkation was a breeze. The overall cruise was okay. The food in the main dining room has gone down hill again from when we last cruised on the Grandeur in 2013. The food was usually served warm not hot. The selections were not as good as previous cruises. The soups and ...

Perfect except for a little wind

The cruise director and staff did an excellent job of keeping us entertained and activities/events moving. The headliner shows for the most part were perfect with only one magic act uneven in his performance. The food in the dining room was varied and of good quality, and with the recommendations of our wait staff (Kenneth and Eduardo) made selections easier. The only issue I had was trying to get ...

Beautiful fall colors and great weather!

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

Chose this cruise due to close proximity of departure port and port of calls for viewing fall foliage. We were not disappointed. Ship crew is fantastic. Food was not up to usual and precious quality, but was ok. Somehow we manage to always get a rookie server in MDR. However, we were patient and still gave them extra gratuities. We all have to start somewhere! Had a wonderful dinner one night in ...

We had always wanted to do this itinerary, so we found a good price and booked it. This is a smaller ship with a big heart! The staff was wonderful, very caring, and professional. We especially want to thank Mennie, our cabin attendant, Virgilio, our waiter, Wayan, our assistant water, and Pilar, the Head Waitress. They all helped to make this cruise very special for us. We booked an inside ...

We chose this cruise because we hadn't cruised in over 20 years and since we've never been to New England or Canada we felt that this would be the perfect cruise for us - and it was. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we're going again on the Grandeur on 10/19/17 from Baltimore. For us, the highlight of the cruise was visiting Bar Harbor, ME. Although our whale watching excursion was canceled ...

New England Fall Foliage Cruise

We choose this cruise to once again visit the New England area during the beautiful fall foliage. Loved the day in Boston --12 hours-- wow have never spent the entire day in a port. We were able to meet friends from CT. who drove to Boston to meet us. Spend the day on Newbury street mostly, as we have been several times and have seen the usual things. We spent a pre-cruise night in Baltimore at ...

Surprised by Sunny Weather in the Fall in Canada

We took a chance sailing in mid-October from Baltimore to Canada and New England, but we hoped to be in the area at the height of fall colors. It really paid off- Weather was beautiful- warm and sunny at each port. The trees were colorful. We packed for cold and wound up with a tropical-feeling cruise after the first two days. Embarkation at Baltimore was efficient. We took Elite ...
