Celebrity's Cost Cutting Is Not a Pretty Sight

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Celebrity Reflection

What I expect from Celebrity is first class service, excellent ships, excellent food, and so-so entertainment. The service was excellent. The staff was very professional and friendly. No complaints in this department. Getting on and off the ship was very smooth with virtually no waits or delays -- the terminal at Fr. Lauderdale knows what it's doing. The quality of the dining, however, has ...

A great getaway--but Celebrity is in a decline

We enjoyed our cruise, but for the first time since the pandemic (8th cruise since pandemic) we saw a noticeable decline in the quality of the food and food choices on Celebrity. The service overall was outstanding--other than at the buffet---not one time did anyone approach us about getting us a drink during our meal, the selections the one night we went there for dinner was truly awful (and ...

Would do it again

We were pleasantly surprised with how nice the ship was and how much we liked the whole overall experience after doing our last 2 cruises on Edge-class ships. We were in an Aqua-Class cabin which had a few more amenities which made it a little more special - these included the Persian Garden spa area and the Blu Restaurant. Both were very enjoyable. Our cabin steward, Agus, was friendly and ...

A little worn down but has a special charm to it.

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Celebrity Reflection

As a first time cruise, it was quite enjoyable. I know that a lot of more experienced cruisers don't like the ship apparently, but some of the reasons why people don't like it is why I enjoy the ship so much. The ship is quite obviously dated, but not so far back to where it's a bad thing. The late 2000s to early 2010s lounges and general design language is something I actually quite enjoyed on ...

Retreat Is Not a Luxury Experience

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Celebrity Reflection

Let me start by noting we were fortunate to stay in the “Retreat” in an upper level suite. We originally booked this cabin (no Move Up) so perks, etc. described below are what come with booking. Check-in was quick (though we were misdirected a couple of time). There was a separate area for Retreat passengers with pastries and water/soda. There was no separate drop-off for Retreat luggage (more ...

She needs an update but still a great ship and crew!

Many thanks to the hard working and friendly crew of the Reflection! We all thought there was a big improvement in crew friendliness and quality of overall service from our cruise 1 year ago. This was our 15th cruise, 10th Celebrity cruise with our last cruise on the Ascent in December. This was week 1 of our B2B cruises on the Reflection. We decided to cruise for 14 days due to the extra air ...

Great Cruise for First Timers

We joined this cruise with family who are frequent cruisers, though for us it was our first. Our experienced Canadian cousins were more than happy to initiate us into the intricacies of shipboard life and it didn't take long for us to get used to it. The ship itself is beautiful and in pretty good shape given I understand it's about due for a renovation. It was clean and everything worked, ...

This is not the Celebrity You Once Knew

Was just on Ascent sailing and came on this and what a shock to the system! While cost cutting was apparent on Ascent compared to last year's sailing on Apex, it is beyond comprehension how this once fine line has fallen from grace. Feel like I've gone from Ritz Carlton to Motel 6. Even the crew is like what the hell? I've been on over 50 cruises of which many have been on Celebrity, I have ...

We Love Celebrity Reflection

Celebrity Reflection is a gorgeous ship with its dark woods and beautiful atrium. We booked in The Retreat and we LOVED every aspect of it. Embarkation was seamless and very friendly with no lines. We had immediate access to our suite to put down our luggage and then we hit Michael’s Club for a drink until lunch at Luminae. In addition to the excellent bar service, there is a self-serve ...

Celebrity has become the new Carnival. No longer feels exclusive/upscale/great value

Wife and I just completed our third sailing on the Reflection ('17,'18. Sailed back-to-back Apex/Equinox in '19) and first cruise since the pandemic. Wow, have things changed (just like everything else in the U.S.) compared to just 4,5 years ago, and not for the best, IMO. Pros: Ship was virtually the same. Clean, well-maintained, but there did seem to be a strong urine smell from the ...
