We chose HAL because we sailed with them 10+ years ago and it was great then. Unfortunately it has changed a lot and this has been the most disappointing vacation in 43 years. Ship limped it's way back into Fort Lauderdale just ahead of our cruise. Then we found out we would be staying 2 full days in Fort Lauderdale. We selected this cruise based on reviews and advice from past guests. The cruise was reduced from 7 days to 5 days due to the need to repair the azipod propulsion system which took 2 days to complete thereby making the ship a floating hotel. My experience on the Nieuw Amsterdad was far from what was advertised. I did not find the dining to be top notch. Pinnicle was very overrated. I tried the porkchop and needed a chainsaw to cut it. My wife tried the Hallibut and it was so dry you could use it as an ink blotter. The main dining room was mediocre at best.
