Did the job, but old and tired
"We chose this cruise to meet up with old friends in Bermuda. Whilst the ship is old and lacking in any glitz (as we commented it was like stepping back 50 years, except the portholes would have opened then) the..."Read More

Disappointing

Review for Boudicca to Mediterranean

2-5 Cruises

We chose this cruise as Our 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration, we chose FO as it promotes itself as a family run concern, but they are only interested in making money. Most of our disappointment does not particularly concern the quality of the cabin(we upgraded to a junior suite), the cuisine or entertainment, all of which were only acceptable, nothing particularly outstanding. The Phillopino ...

My third Fred Olsen cruise - another excellent itinerary (Indonesia)

Review for Boudicca to Asia

I choose Fred Olsen because of the itineraries and because I don't like huge ships (I actually prefer those with around 300 passengers, so Fred Olsen ships are still bigger than I like, ideally). Boudicca is comfortable and the food is very good - plenty of choice and variety, and the staff are friendly and helpful. My criticisms would be: * My single inside cabin was very small - ...

Background: We had booked a 14-day fly/cruise package directly through Fred Olsen leaving from Cape Town, visiting Port Elizabeth, Richard’s Bay, Mayotte, Madagascar and the Seychelles. Flights: Instead of the direct flight we were supposed to have, we had to go through Johannesburg, collect our luggage, go through customs, re-check our luggage, change terminals and take another flight to ...

Fine cruise to the Fjords of Greenland

We boarded Boudicca at the beginning of August in Dover for her Fjords of Greenland cruise. We had booked a superior outside cabin but were upgraded to a junior suite some weeks before departure. This cabin, 5009, was at the front of the ship and was large, warm and very comfortable. The only noise to be heard was as the ship dropped anchor or used its bow thrusters. We were due to go north to ...

Floating Travelodge

We chose this cruise because it left from Dover, which is to near to home, and because it visits the Norwegian fjords. Norway is amazing, but I overheard Boudicca being dubbed HMS Dignitas, and that was upsettingly accurate. It really was a floating care home. There were no activities or evening shows even remotely suitable for the under 70s; it was all bridge, knitting, and very bad easy ...

This was our 37th cruise. Some have had spectacular destinations, some have been full of excitement and entertainment. Until this cruise, the Braemar to and through the Panama canal was overall our best ever cruise. Four days before this one on Boudicca I received a phone call advising that we had a complimentary upgrade to a 7th deck cabin with terrace and wet room. When we opened the cabin ...

It was an ideal way to get to Iceland without having to fly (which I refuse to do any more). Embarkation was smooth and fast with scarcely any queueing. Disembarkation was equally fast and efficient. We had an internal cabin which was adequate in size, pleasant decor, very comfortable bed, and efficient shower in the ensuite. The stewardess was very pleasant and efficient, like all the other ...

We booked to go to the Fjords leaving Dover 09 June 2019. We made a little mistake when booking as we went via a Travel Agent. Firstly, the agent was poor but, more importantly, it placed an barrier between us and FO. Any queries we had we were referred back to the agent. My advice - book direct. The boarding in Dover was seamless. We live near Dover so booked a taxi. Straight into the port up ...

Fantastic Experience

Review for Boudicca to Norwegian Fjords

We wanted to see the Norwegian Fjords and only a small (ish) ship can get to all the best ones. We loved the size of this ship as you were no overwhelmed by the size and if you met someone you liked to talk to you would be sure to see them again, a real plus point. The only moan we had was the size of the cabin, we did have a balcony but the room was very narrow to what we are used to, but if you ...

We took this cruise as we were already booked on the previous cruise and it was reduced to a good price for Black Friday. The ports of Lisbon, Portimao and Leixoes (for Porto) also appealed. We upgraded our cabin on the first full day of the cruise to a terrace balcony cabin, which we liked a lot, though sadly due to poor weather we could not use the balcony as much as we would have liked on ...
