Princess holds the standard in cruising. Whether you consider their top notch entertainment, food, service, or so many other features, they continue to be the industry leader. The staff on Princess seem to cater to their customers and it would be unusual for you to ever encounter a staff member and that person does not smile and greet you.Another nice feature is the paid laundry on each deck that lessens the need to you to pack extra clothing.....However the TV reception was poor and they continued to lose the single. You could not just 'change channels', you had to turn off the set and then you could change the channel. Also the internet was poor as well. You pay for the internet and it will log you in quickly to THEIR site, but while your paid minutes run on it seems to take quite a while before it actually HOOKS up to any site... Read Less

Looking to get away from some cold weather and smoke in California from the fires. The price was reasonable and the time was right. Swimming with the dolphins was absolutely the best. That was in the Grand Caymans. Then snorkeling in Cozumel with the fury. The crew made this trip so much fun. They made sure we stayed safe. Then took us to a private beach. With a water park in the ocean. Free drinks. Lunch was on us. But I have to say that our dinner on our balcony was simply superb. The staff were amazing. The food was too. From the perfect steak and lobster to the dessert. Then my beautiful flowers. Thank you. Will do this dinner again. They did have some great activities on this cruise. And also the Horizon Court was larger than our last cruise and actually better. But seating was hard to fing. I hope to go on the Royal Princess again. Read Less

Drop and Go great deal with only a $20 upgrade for a balcony. Felt like royalty as a first time balcony guest! This cruise line is perfect for a laid back get away from crowds experience. Very well run for crowd control compared to others that I have gone on. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Noticed that there were not many children on board and the typical cruiser was perhaps around 70. For Costa Maya, we booked Maya Chan all inclusive where the drinks and food were superb. The beach and water on this island has seaweed, but they rake it. The experience was great! This was ranked the number one thing to do there and I will verify that! This was a delightful cruise! The only problem was that Belize had possible flooding and so the cave trips were closed without any prior notice. Rio Secreto from Belize was our excursion highlight! Not to be missed! Read Less

My daughter recommended Princess, but I had previously sailed aboard this cruise line to Alaska (another wonderful experience.) It was fantastic experience, even better than my previous cruise. The staff was overwhelmingly friendly and efficient, the entertainment was awesome, with individual performers being possibly the best in the industry. My biggest problems were trying to decide which bar to choose and which entertainer I wanted to see and at what hour. To name a few, there was the Consonance Duo, a classical violin-piano duet but with a funny bend. Young, personable and oh-so-talented. If there was a request and they could not honor it, be sure that at the next performance it would be included. Tommy at the piano bar was hilarious, and audience friendly, but not shy about poking fun at the unsuspecting too-serious audience member. Barbi, the featured soprano, had impeccable coloratura skills, but had no problem singing the "Chicken Dance" during an impromptu performance with the Consonance Duo. The aboard-ship band was dynamic, fun and delightfully upbeat. Be prepared to either dance with the singers or sing a couple of lines. It was a wonderful experience that can only be remedied by booking another cruise. Read Less

This was my first holiday in 20 years, flew around the world to embark on this holiday. this cruise was na expensive cruise with a lot of trimming for my last week to be ruined by the Princess tour operator that ran a segway into mine head on. the other tour operator knocked another tourist off his segway in the same tour injuring that tourist as well. please look into any tour you wish to do and the 100% guarantee that princess offers surrounding tour and what that entails, their tour their tour operator but they took no responsibility for the poorly maintained machine and their operators. I can say the food in the Horizon restaurant was outstanding as was the wait staff, the food in the dining rooms had little choice that never changed. the room was too small and stuffy for three people with one of the beds coming down over the balcony door which we then could not access the balcony in the morning until it was lifted or at night once it was down and or open the door to listen to the waves. the air conditioning in the cabin did not work properly and was too hot, but we could not open the cabin door to balcony due to the bed being in the way. Looks for a cabin that does not have a bed that comes down infant of the door. most of the ports were very good except for the Dominican Republic which was a terrible and Grand Turk. Read Less

I have cruised several times in the past with several cruise lines but this one is the best so far, I have cruised with Princess Cruises to Mexico before, this time to Eastern Caribbean (from Port Everglades, Princess Cays, San Juan Puerto Rico, Amber Cove, and Grand Turk/Caicos then back to Everglades) I enjoyed this cruise more than I just had to the Mediterranean last month with other cruise line. From embarkation to the end until disembarkation it was perfect, no problems encountered, staff members were awesome, their professionalism is impeccable, from stateroom keeper to dining room staff. I enjoyed dancing with STATIC BAND perform, they are very good, variety of music is delightful. I danced every night to lose the calories I've gained from the dining room. Food was great, from buffet to formal dining. I am for sure going to book another cruise in the very near future. Read Less

This was our 22nd cruise on Princess and other cruise lines. As senior travelers we seldom find exceptional adult evening entertainment that we enjoyable. This cruise was an exception. The Production show called "ENCORE", featuring soprano Barbie McCulloch was the best we have ever experienced. The music, dancing, and costumes were outstanding. We especially thought the music selections from various broadway musicals and familiar operas was superb!! This was the highlight of our cruise. On the negative side of our critique, we thought the quality of food served in the Concerto dining facility was only average throughout the cruise--far from being called gourmet. In fact, the strip steak served on the last night of the cruise was very close ti being called shoe leather and ill prepared. It seems that Princess keeps the regular dining cuisine at only an average "plain Jane" level. Guest who want an exceptional meal must pay extra at one of the ships high priced "special" restaurants. Terrible food. Minimal Food selections. Small Balcony Cabin. Bathroom was so small my knees were jammed up against the Bathroom door when I sat on the toilet. The waiters rarely spoke, had no personality and sometimes quite rude. Not one single restaurant Manager ever came to the table to see how your dining experience was. Our cabin had no AC for the first two days at sea and it was totally miserable. It took 4 phone calls over a two day period and me getting extremely ugly with some of the management staff before they finally moved us to a cabin with working AC, by this time the cruise experience was tarnished terribly. The Buffet served the same exact items for both lunch and dinner all 8 days of our cruise, and was pitiful. The casino was so tiny it was the size of my garage and the machines were so crammed tight together that you couldn’t get to sit down without bumping into someone. The ship was supposedly sailed in 2013 but was so dated and worn that it looked to be at least 15 years old with no upkeep. In summary, my Wife and I have been on at least 15 cruises and have NEVER experienced this before. Do yourself a favor and Sail with Norwegian where the food is great, the staff cares and the ships the same age are beautiful and well taken care of. Read Less

While on the cruise we did not have the best experiences a few times 1) When we arrived on board and did the spa tour we double check our time and confirmed our couples massage for Saturday November 10, 2018 for 11:30 am. When we arrived at the spa on Saturday at 11:10 am to check in we were informed it was now scheduled for noon and when I explained we confirmed on arrival (the day before) and it was at 11:30 we were told “while now it is at noon so go away until noon (while handing back our cards which clearly had the enclave sticker on them). When we came back at 11:50 we were ask to go in a room and wait until a spa member came to get us for our treatment. We waited almost a half hour before the two ladies came to take us for our massages. Our massages went well until the end when they informed us the food that was ordered had not arrived and we would need to wait until it arrived which took about 20 more minutes. As we were eating another staff member arrived with other passengers to show them the cabana we were eating in, on the spa staff’s part they tried to tell him no but he continued into the cabana with other passengers. While walking us out of the Sanctuary area one of our massage therapist advised she appreciated our patience’s since the appointment scheduled before us did not arrive on time, so it put everything behind. We booked at the time we did as we were with a large group and had other plans so our 80-minute massage that was supposed to start at 11:30 did not get done until 3:00pm making our other plans null and void. We did file out the comment card while on the ship and placed it in the drop box expecting that someone would talk to us while we were still on board but this did not occur so we can only assume this is the expected treatment you give through the spa. 2) We had a wonderful steward for our room for the first few days. Our room was always cleaned, our water was resupplied as we ordered, and things were well taken care of for those days. Then he was replaced with a steward which I can only guess was brand new. Our room was not cleaned one day all day while we were on an excursion and when we advised him we would be leaving the room in about 10 minutes to go into town he stated he was off in a half hour and would try to get to it when he returned at 5 pm. We came back from town just before late dinner and our room was still not cleaned even though the “please refresh my room” was placed outside the door. We also ordered water which we did not get for two more days when we asked for it and reminded him we had ordered it. Our room was not cleaned another day until we were at dinner this was on a sea day. The room service trays stayed in the room longer than 24 hours at one point and a cup with a snack in it was left in the room for 2 full days until I asked where I could put it to dispose of it. Also on one occasion when the room had been clean when we returned there was a dirty wet wash cloth in the closet on top of my dress shoes. My shoes are fine but I was not sure where this wash cloth came from or how it would have ended up there. We placed this wash cloth in the cart outside our room as no steward was around. At one point we took out our own room service tray and placed it on the cart in the hallway since it was still in our room. 3) We received the paperwork for the debarkation process and filled it out the same day and returned it. As I said we were with a large group so when they were all talking about the time they debarked and where they had to go we did not know what they were talking about as this was our first cruise. We did receive notice that we would get this information on the evening before debarking so we did not have any concerns at first. Then on Friday evening around 9 pm we had to go down to passenger services to ask as we still had no information. The gentlemen at the desk looked us up and asked us how many luggage tags we needed and handed us a paper when we asked him what time and where we would need to go in the morning, he said everything you need is in there and walked away. No help with figuring out the already failed system we were experiencing. 4) This was our first cruise and it was unnerving to have two deaths among passengers with one being a violent event in the middle of the night. While we had these unpleasant experiences, we are considering cruising again in the future but are unsure which cruise line we will be trying. We did make a deposit with Princess but are unsure if we will be taking advantage of the benefits as of yet. Read Less

We love the ABC Islands and visiting each port! If you have never been I would highly recommend traveling down south and enjoying a visit to all 3 spots. Embarkation was slowed down due to NoroVirus on previous cruise. Was a long line since we all waited to board but got on without an issue and they did an excellent job sanitizing the ship for us! We love the class of ship, was our first time on the Royal but have been on her sister the Regal 6 times. The layout and set up is wonderful. From the track on 17 to the Plaza everything is always top of the line. Cabin - We had a mini suite and as always nice and roomy! Only issue was the cabinet steward who was hard to find, always running behind, and didn't always follow requests. Dinning was the issue. Upset at Princess for changing times for MDR. They wanted us to eat at lunch time for dinner (4:30 pm). So we changed to 7:15 pm even though we don't like that late. So I guess if you have 400 TA's on the trip and they all complain it gets changed back to the original time? So we ended up instead of a 6 pm dinner, they moved our time to 7:45 pm. We ended up in the buffet since we don't want dinner that late. But we weren't the only ones as they had a staffing issue in the buffet not being able to cover all of us who lost our times we had scheduled. Makes me think we should start looking at other lines? Entertainment/Activities - We always love MUT or some of the Games they do at night. The shows are ok, but not impressive. Not sure what was up with the comedian, wasn't that funny! Service - Not as impressive as in the past. They had great attitudes but it was like they were always playing catch up to take care of us. But to be honest I'll take the smile over speed, you could tell they cared. Ports - Aruba was the best, did a simple bus ride to the beach and as always wonderful. Bonaire did the beach (may be a theme with us). Didn't like the undertow off the dock but have to admit loved the hotel we were at. Curagao was wonderful, yes another beach day, yes loved it. Also loved walking on the floating dock and the downtown area. These islands have so much to offer and the people are nice and friendly. The disembarkation was impressive. We live in Florida and drive to the port. They had us off and in my car 25 minutes from our scheduled time. I was impressed. Overall with the situation of the passenger who died during our trip I feel Princess handled it with a professional attitude leaving it to the investigators to determine what happened. Read Less
