I am a tour leader for a social club in Sun City TEXAS and took 54 of our members on this cruise. Everyone liked it but complained about the casino being 100% smoking. It was only 1/2 smoking in December.
The ship is quite nice especially the promenade. The shops block free passage about every evening, however. All passenger access areas were clean and neat at all times. The Diamond and above ...
Embarkation was a cluster due to fog delay. The Galveston Port was not ready for the amount of guests arriving all at once.
I stayed in an inside cabin on the 8th floor which I had never done before and it was great.
Wonderful housekeeping services. Our server in the dining room was horrible. We had an 8am seating and he had a trainee following him who was lovely. I believe his name was ...
The boat is very nice. Everything is nicely decorated, except - oddly enough - the cabin corridors. While we prefer Carnival overall, this is a nicer boat. The highlights include the shows and entertainment - definitely a step above Carnival - the activities, and the smooth sailing. As far as the shows go, do NOT miss the cirque show, the ice skating show, or Saturday Night Fever, all of which ...
This was our second cruise on this ship and the same itinerary, we were with the Celtic on the Caribbean group again for its second year. We chose to go again because we were forced to miss the Grand Cayman stop last year due to rough seas.
We stayed in the Baymont Suites hotel off 61st and Seawall (close to Starbucks and a straight shot to our parking at 81st Dolphin on 29th at Merchant). ...
We chose this cruise to sail from a different port. Boarding was a complete debacle. The ship wasn't able to dock on time due to fog however we ended up standing in line for 3 hours to board. We dined in the Mexican, Italian and steak specialty restaurants and the service was great in all 3. We attended a cooking class/chef's table lunch in the Italian restaurant. Antipasto, bruschetta, 4 pastas, ...
The venue was what I was looking for plus it sailed out of Galveston which is about 1 1/2 hour from my home town.
Embarkment: Easy and fast.
Cabin: the cabin was average. Shower had plenty of hot water. The stopper in the sink needed fixing but I didn't call maintenance.
Entertainment: Since I went with a group I chose most of the entertainment with that group. I did go to the Ice ...
My husband and I were invited on this cruise by my in laws. They were traveling with my husbands aunt and uncle as well. My in-laws and aunt and uncle are avid cruises. My husband hasn't been on a cruise in over 10 years and this was my first. Simply: I loved it.
We flew in to Houston, drove to Galveston the next day. My FIL parked the car, dropped us and the luggage off. The line was a little ...
Easy cruising from from Galveston. Embarkation was quick. and we were on board and Our cabin was ready on time at 1 pm. Our luggage arrived midafternoon.
The ship is very nice and attractively decorated. Although it was a pretty full sailing, there were few times it felt crowded and overall it is very quiet.
Our cabin was the very last balcony on the starboard side which provided an extra ...
We took the same cruise last August but we were re-routed because of hurricane Earl. We didn't make Roatan or Belize.
This time we made it to both ports! The cruise was outstanding as it was last August.
We asked for Rogelio, our waiter from last cruise, and he was still in the same dining room. We sat in his section and had the same exceptional service.
The balcony railings could use ...
2/5 through 2/12/17 on the RCCL Liberty of the Seas. Balcony Cabin on the 6th deck. The ship was fine. The Royal promenade was nice, but there was no WOW factor. Nothing that stood out as excellent. The room was an average balcony room and was clean. But it was the little things that made us go "hmmmmm, what's going on with RCCL"? The QUALITY wasn't there anymore.
We had been telling ...
