Had originally been booked on a different ship but carnival repositioned our ship and we got put on the splendor. Wasn't a lot of info out there so I was a little worried but we were very pleased with the ship. We are a family of 4 with 2 boys ages 11 & 15.
The bad:
The ship layout on the lower floors are really not good. You canot walk from the middle of ship to the MDR. You have to go ...
We just got off the Splendor after a 7 day Western Carribean cruise. Overall it was a great trip! I really can't say I have any major complaints. We had been on the Splendor 4 years ago and the ship is still clean and been kept up. We have only cruised on Carnival, it is really family oriented. We have a 11 yo and 13 yo. There were tons of kids on the ship since it was spring break.

this was our first Carnival cruise and it was booked at the last minute. We were originally booked on another line, going a completely different direction and we weren't sure what we would end up with. We couldn't have been more pleased. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Our steward, Greg Mark, was awesome. Our dining room team, Arthur, Romell and Julian (spelled incorrectly-my apologies) were ...

The trip was great with quite a lot to do. The people were alive with excitement and quite friendly toward each other though from various nations. It was amazing seeing the workers attend to their duties with dispatch and precision. Two negatives I would like to comment on: 1) The meals were predictable, stifling excitement 2) It would be nice if the culture of the region being visited be ...
Accomodations: We stayed in an oceanview room and we loved the extra large window and it offered a great view of the sea. Our room was kept clean with towel animals each night and a chocolate. The bathroom had a drain problem when we arrived and it took to phone calls and two days to get fixed. Our stewart was a little too friendly which made me feel a little uncomfortable.
Ship: Splendor ...
We sailed on the Splendor for our spring break vacation. We had a blast. We sailed with two other families with kids the same age as ours. The kids quickly learned that they pretty much could have run of the ship and were soon exploring on their own all over. The best part for them I think was the 24/7 free soft serve ice cream. The one thing I would suggest is that they have a better activity ...
We booked this cruise because I wanted to see the Journey concert, and in that respect it was outstanding - a unique, intimate venue that is so different from the usual arenas & ampetheaters. We purchased VIP tickets that included prime seating and a pre-show photo op with the band. Awesome experience, and I would do it again in a heartbeat to see my favorite band.
Carnival is not my ideal ...
Just sailed on the Carnival Splendor on March 15, 2015. Décor is in desperate need of a facelift. Main pool area had outdated plastic flower pot decorations that were faded and outdated. The grand atrium...not so grand.
We originally signed up for my time dining. Went to the dining room and was seated. Waiter was not very friendly and didn't even introduce himself. My daughter ordered a ...
we are avid cruisers and have sailed on mainly NCL, RCCL and Celebrity. We also have individual cruises on Princess and Holland America. We usually choose the cruise for it's itinerary, We have never had a bad cruise on any line although each line is somewhat different. We had been leery of cruising Carnival, but decided it a shot as we have also heard good things from fellow cruisers. We had ...
