We decided to do a neighborhood cruise from The Villages, FL. on the beautiful Oasis taking the Eastern Caribbean itinerary. This was our 4th cruise on the Oasis and it was good to be back on her. Final call had a total of 49 cruiser's heading out for 7 days of fun and over indulgence with the many food choices available. The Oasis class ship is our ship of choice with the many venues available any day of the week. Because we had been to all the usual ports many times we chose to stay on board during Port days and enjoyed the solitude available in all the hot tubs and pools and also the non busy eating places that were open. Entertainment was provided by cutthroat games of Sequence to burn up the calories. Embarkation was a nightmare as customs didn't clear the ship for boarding until almost noon thereby guarantying huge winding lines where you visited your neighbor many times over as we weaved our way thru. But finally they cleared the ship for boarding and we were ready for our adventure. We had a basic ocean view balcony that sufficed for the occasion but after being spoiled in suites a few times lately it's never the same. But we were on a cruise so we sucked it up and enjoyed what we had. We ate in the Main Dining room table # 836 @ 5:30 every night and we have never had better service in 20+ cruises with Tejas and Ming Ming bending over backwards to accomodate our every need The basic shows that we've also seen many times were good but "Come Fly With Me" needs to be replaced as it's served it's useful purpose. Aqua Theatre and ice skating show are always entertaining. Sadly the departure date arrived and once again our vaunted Customs Agents delayed everything as in the beginning they had 2 agents to serve 6,000 passengers. It's a shame that in some peoples eyes they blame RCCL for these messes with embark/disembark problems which were not of any of their doing. On the bus ride home our group of 49 all agreed it was a wonderful cruise and everyone had a grand time. You can't ask for a better rating than that. Read Less

We normally cruise twice a year and rccl is our favorite line. Checking was amazingly fast we left our hotel at 11am and was sitting in suite lounge at 1130. Most organized luggage pickup in all my 60 plus cruises. This was also our first cruise as diamond plus, but when you are in a suite those perks do not mean much. Owners suite was huge, we normally book grand suites, big difference between suites was size of balcony which was 250 sq ft, dinning table for four inside and on balcony and bathroom had a separate shower and jacuzzi tub. Living room was also large could sit 6 comfortably, but I bit of a waste for only the two of us ,also 2 TVs the one in living room was about 55” and. 40” in bedroom. Did miss the DVD player that all our grand suites on other ships had. Suite lounge and costal kitchen , first time in costal kitchen, we had breakfast and lunch there daily and dinner the first two nights, service was good but not as good as celebrity luminae. Suite bar and room had great view on deck 17, bartenders were excellent, we did get drink package since we have the 30 percent off. Loved the ship , Central Park was really nice they had classical music every night and had dinner in chops there twice also Giovanni’s and 150cp which was our favorite. Although our second dinner in chops we were outside which was not as noisy and could listen to music. Also loved the bar “rising tide” that went from Central Park on deck 8 to deck 5. Also had a dinner at habatchi in Izumi on deck 4. Ice show was great as normal, aqua show was also excellent. We went to jazz club on deck 4 most nights and really enjoyed music , pub on 5 had a very entertaining country singer that sounded like Johnny Cash. Piano player in schooner bar was ok. Pool seating area for suites was terrible location 2 deck above pool . Did not have much interaction with concierge but they did s great job walking us off ship and to head of the security line. Really liked the oasis class and sure we will cruise it again, but looking forward to our msc yacht club with separate pool for suites. Read Less

The ship is fantastic, love the Oasis Class, and if this is your first cruise you will be WOWED by everything. I will say if you are a repeat cruiser with Royal Caribbean, as my husband and I are, you will find that RC is cutting staff, services, and unfortunately food quality (our dinner table found all steak choices were tough). The food choices on the dinner menu appears to be diminishing also. On a 7 night cruise, unless you are someone who eats or will try anything (which we are) you may be eating at the buffet a couple of nights for additional choices. I don't want to give the impression we were not happy with the cruise because we will continue to cruise with RC, however the difference is becoming more noticeable. The staff was definitely over worked and understaffed, especially in the dining room, the buffet staff was less attentive and there appears to be more and more on board $$ activities on the Cruise Compass, which in the past were free. We chose RC because we read that it was the best cruise line for handicapped people. It did not disappoint! The service was second to none, especially in the dining room. I loved the Solarium and the fact that no kids were in there. (I'm a teacher of young children & was recharging!). I was disappointed in the size of the Solarium pool though...it was like a big hot tub. I was also a bit disappointed in the variety of excursions. There were several I could have done in St. Thomas, but the choices for the other two ports were not as plentiful. We loved the Fast Cat snorkeling trip but we were packed in like sardines. It would be better to put a cap on the number going....not only for the boat but for snorkeling. I was kicked in the head more than once because we were all jammed in a small space. (There were 4 or 5 other catamarans in the same area, so it was not only crowded, there were just a few sea turtles and one sting ray.). I loved all of my time on the ship and would have booked it for next year but there were no handicapped balcony rooms left. Read Less

We went on an eastern Caribbean cruise. We had a wonderful time overall, but we were both disappointed with the food in the mdr, the windjammer and the solarium. It was just okay or not really good at all. We ate several of our meals in the specialty restaurants. We ate at Chops, Giovanni's and 150 Central Park. All three were delicious and had great service. Our two favorites were Giovanni's and 150 Central Park. Our room steward, Laverne was absolutely wonderful. She always has a smile for you. She has a very wonderful attitude and added to our whole experience. The casino is a lot of fun, but those slot machines like to giveth and taketh away. Read Less

We are Diamond Plus Crown and Anchor members. We have sailed 25 times with RCCL and this was our 4th cruise on the Oasis. We chose this cruise because the Oasis is our favorite ship operated by RCCL and from past experiences had the best food. We looked forward to the Holiday cruise leaving Port Canaveral on 11/18/18. We found that there were very long lines waiting to get into the terminal building. More than usual. Once in the building and through security things moved a little faster. We soon had our room and got on the ship a little later than we usually do but it worked out nicely because most rooms are not ready until 1 PM anyway. We were pleased to have our luggage arrive to our room about 2 hours later, before we set sail. Nice job! Next we were to attend the Safety briefing given before sailing. They continue to play the video tape about the secret agent that is just horrible! It is on all their ships as well as Celebrity Ships. The volume was so high on the video that it could not be understood. They really need to change the briefing. We were surprised to find many, many children on board. I am talking babes in arms, toddlers, teens etc and all that goes with it. I am not against kids in any way other than the parents that do not care to control them. There was continual running in the passageways, screaming etc. It was our own fault for assuming due to the inflated price of the cruise that it may not have been suitable for families. We now realize that RCCL is for family cruising and will book appropriately the next time. One item that really turned us off was the food! We booked this cruise with food in mind and the quality of it we had on past cruises. This was really sub par. Now we ate every meal in the Windjammer except one we had at Chops. Just have to say shame on RCCL for the poor quality of food and poor selection. The service in the Windjammer was a high spot as we were impressed with the attitude of the service staff. Everyone was pleasant and wanted to please us with their service. We had a balcony room that was nice. It was very quiet and we could not hear neighbors in any way. Our Stateroom attendant ARJAY, was excellent! The found that the Oasis is getting a bit tired and really needs a refit. The carpets in main areas were filthy and paint was needed in many areas. Yes, everything worked but the ship needs some TLC. Our itinerary included Nassau, St Thomas and St Maarten. All nice stops but we noticed that the stops (other than Nassau) were still struggling to overcome the effects of Hurricane Irma. Debarkation was a highlight. We used self debark and carried our own luggage. The ship docked at 06.00 and we were off by 06.30 and in our car headed home by 07.15. Excellent! All in all we can only give this cruise is just an "OK". Nothing spectacular. Food, poor. Service , good. Read Less

We were extremely disappointed. 10 of us sailed for the 1st time on RC. Although I have been on carnival twice n it is a party ship, RC was a huge disappointment. The food was not good in the dining room n Simone was not pleasant at all it was like we were rushed. We were not treated like royality on Oasis always had to go to the bar for drinks. The cruise director was not involved with activities as much as carnival. No deck activities at all. Overall the staff was not friendly at all. The amount of money we paid for this fruise it was a huge disappointment. Couldnt even see all the shows becuz they were all booked. Rooms were not clean. Carpet by the closet was filthy, sheets werent changed all week. Also paid the have an outfit dry cleaned n pressed n it was not cleaned only pressed. Up graded our sons soda card to deluxe for non alcoholic drinks which was 214.00 n went down 2nd day to change it back to soda card becuz he didnt use it n they wld only refund 2 days. I certainly wld not sail RC again becuz of the staff, activities, food n not being able to see all the shows for money we paid for the cruise! Also had s black out on the ship that lasted 1/2 hr. We sailed on the Allure (2014) and did not have the chance to enjoy the whole ship in 7 days. A B2B on the Oasis this time cured much of that and we would return to the Oasis Class ships in a heart beat. On both trips we had Central Park balconies. Enjoyed the view and the sounds. There were many placed to see the ocean. Inside cabin with perks. The ship was the destination although we explored food tours while in ports. We were amazed at the ease of both embarkation/disembarkation. The first week we really enjoyed the Ultimate Dining Package (Five Stars for service and quality). Week two in the Main Dining Room with a side trip to The Chef's Table one night (WOW). We understand cruisers reluctance to pay the extra for the extra dining experience, but it is with it. I challenge any one to really enjoy the pizza at Sorano's with all the other options. The Park Cafe on was our only let down. It suffer from minimal choices when you wanted a "small" snack after hours. The entertainment was a must but you need to know the reservation system, or you'll wait in the standby line. OK if you want to take pot luck on the seating and there usually is. We really wanted to see the production of "Cats" but it didn't meet expectations. Not because of the actor and dancers, but the length. a full broadway show had many leaving at intermission. On eating comment. The Meet and Mingle event was a waste of valuable on ship time. We expected more than raffle and a few breakfast treats. In and out early in the morning and rushing off to the Crown & Anchor event. Vary little if any interaction with Cruise Critic guests. I called 3 times to let them know of my dietary needs. They said they had no idea and gave me the shoulder and attitude. Serenity of the Seas had Lactose free milk in my fridge, waters and Ensure upon arrival, the DFB called and met with me along with the chef and sous chef, again nothing here. Did get a good meal in the Dining Room as Patricio came over and heard of my needs and made it himself. For being in a suite horrible service. Casino needs more interactive games, maybe camera classes and not having to pay to make a card or scrapbooking. The short fitness classes were also a joke to have to pay for and reason I brought my own fitness equipment Read Less

My wife and I took our 3 children, ages 11, 13, 15 on the Oasis of the Seas. I had been on a number of ships, but not the really big ones and wanted to try the Oasis. My expectations were reasonable, but they were not only met, but far exceeded. Never once did we feel crowded -- which was very impressive for such a large ship. The various dining options were phenomenal. I did a lot of research beforehand and wasn't planning on doing any of the specialty dining -- but once there changed our minds. Wow..we were glad we did. Giovanni's was terrific. 150 Central Park was out of this world phenomenal, and Chops Steakhouse was solid. The service in the main dining room was second to none and by far the highlight of the trip. We sat in Patricio's section with Damien, Rahul, Kunal and Wissem. You could not find a more personable, good hearted, warm, welcoming staff with a great sense of humor. They were so good, that my kids insisted on attending the My Time formal dining even when my wife and I attended the specialty restaurant. They were welcomed with open arms, treated like royalty and shown the time of their lives. It's a real testament to this group that the highlight of the trip was the dining room staff!! And that says alot, considering you couldn't get my 11 year old off the flowrider, which he must have did over 100 times. Speaking of the flowrider, it was awesome. The flowrider staff could not have been friendlier, more helpful and good natured. Between the dining room staff and the sports deck staff, you really felt you were amongst family...which was incredibly impressive. There were so many different highlights on this ship and the staff seemed to love their jobs and genuinely care. If I had to give a downside...I would say the WindJammer Buffet isn't visually appealing or organized that well. The food there was just ok...but the presentation/layout was sloppy. But considering SO MANY other phenomenal dining options, snack options, bars, breakfast options, etc... this wasn't too big of a deal. Hopefully they'll fix this soon. Overall, this was a great ship...with a great many really good options -- but what set this apart was the genuine, heartfelt service of the Dining Room staff and the Sports Entertainment Deck Staff. Royal Caribbean truly has some great people here that made our family feel loved and special. Well done!! Read Less
