My husband and I are in our early 60's, and have cruised over 16 times before with Carnival, Norwegian, Disney, Celebrity, and Princess. We have found that Celebrity, and Princess are our favorite cruise lines when it comes to food, value, and service. We took this cruise because we were joining friends, who we had cruised with before, but had not seen for a while. We had a great time because we ...

This cruise was in celebration of my niece graduating college this year. Our group was my sister, her husband, their daughter, my husband and I. This was a six night cruise. This was our 7th cruise (5 with RCCL, 1 with Disney and 1 with Carnival). This was our 3rd time on Mariner of the Seas (2006 Western Caribbean - Port Canaveral Florida, 2010 Mexican Rivera - Long Beach California and 2012 ...

This was the first time to sail out of Galveston even though we live in Houston. We had left home a little early but got a phone call and an email saying the trip was delayed by fog. I dropped three people off at the terminal at 3:45 and a little over 2 hours we were on board. Some folks who arrived earlier spent a lot longer in line and were a little frustrated but in my opinion I fault the ...

A good cruise overall. Embarkation/1st day: We arrived at the port about 12:30, were on board by 2, and in our staterooms by 3. Our luggage was already there. The buffet was a madhouse since that was the only place to get lunch. We took our food outside because there were no tables available. I think the problem was that people just kept their tables after they finished eating because there ...

Booked an inside guarantee cabin and got a Promenade Room directly over the small area for designated for entertainment (bands and other musical groups). We thought we were lucky to have a room overlooking the Royal Promenade, but soon learned we weren't so lucky afterall. First night into the cruise the entertainment featured in the promenade was the country western band...ended around 10:45 ...

Ship: Learned that it was commissioned in 2003, but hardly could tell. Sure there was a bit of wear here and there. But then again, I don't look for nit-picky details like that. The ship's layout is one of the better that I've seen. Very few dead ends. Movement about was easy. Loved the gym and hot tub there. Better than the gym I go to! At night on the bow of the ship, they have most of the ...

We cruised on Mariner on a post-New Years cruise in 2012. It was a 6 day itinerary with three ports of call: Costa Maya, Belize City and Cozumel (two days at sea). I'll break down my review into food & drink, entertainment, ports and logistics. Overall grade: C Food & drink Grade: B The dining room was very good on Mariner, with a high quality and variety of main courses, appetizers ...

As the annual cruise date rolled around my friends, my GF and I all were more than ready to scram out of our hometowns for a few days. No jobs, no phones, no kids... Uh well not quite on the last one actually as my friends' teen daughter went on her first trip. For her, I suspect it was a bit of a wash-out. For the rest of us, a great cruise. Our normal habit is to arrive the day before our ...

Departure on Sunday, Jan 22, 2012. Heavy fog over Galveston caused a huge mess in boarding process. Typically, able to board around 11:30 AM, but had to stand outside, in line for several hours and finally on board at 5:45 PM. If you think there will be fog that morning, stay in touch with Royal Caribbean or your travel agent so you're not on standing at the terminal for hours. My wife, 4 year ...
