Having had a wonderful cruise previously with NCL we booked another cruise. Service and food were excellent and all members of staff went out of their way to be helpful, once we had embarked.
Embarkation was a total shambles, exacerbated by failing to assist my husband, a disabled passenger. We had booked special assistance but this was denied. Passengers in the higher class of accommodation ...
This was our first cruise with NCL and will certainly be our last, the cruise company are the fawlty towers of cruises, but not funny., Where to begin. Before the cruise even started they changed the ports of call we would no longer be visting East Africa which was one of the highlights of the trip. No option to cancel and get a refund. This also meant an extra day at sea. Fast forward to ...
Cruised on the Dawn for the itinerary. Staying onboard all the way to Capetown. No complaints at all regarding the ship or the food. The only reason for 4 stars is I believe a 5 star rating is reserved for spectacular cruising and very few cruise ships get that rating. The Dawn has gotten us to all the ports as expected and will do so for the next 2 weeks. Being an older ship, it is very ...
We chose this cruise because of the Indian Ocean and east Africa itinerary knowing the ship was older but refurbished in 2021 and 4 star rated. The rating should be 2 or 3 star at best and here is why-
Main dinning room food options while well prepared, were limited, no lobster, no escargot, no prime rib. We found it dumbed down and nothing special.
The ship is tired and quite ...
Overall we didn't find much we liked about this ship or NCL's ability to communicate clearly.
The extra charges for simple things really turned us off. Room service is $5 for breakfast and $10 the rest of the day. They will not allow an electric kettle in the room like other lines so if you want hot water it will cost a little over $12 for them to bring you a hot pot of water. Want to get some ...
NCL HORROR STORY
Choose any other cruise line than NCL, what you think you are saving you will pay in disappointment. I booked a mid-east cruise in Aug.‘23 and was a prisoner on-board NCL Norwegian Dawn for 10 days after they cancelled five of eight featured/ advertised ports because of war (understandable) and because four Arab ports barred American ship entry (according to ship grape-vine). ...
NCL Dawn Cruise from Istanbul to Dubai Nov 24 to Dec 13
The cruise changed a number of times. This was explained as a result of the conflict in Palestine. However, stops in Egypt were removed with others added. Sea days were also added. A credit of $200 for the stateroom was provided for the entire trip. No explanation of the compensation for the missed ports, additional sea days, and reduction ...
I chose this cruise because of the value for money, the ports and I had experience with NCL previously. This was my second time cruising. I was a bit hesitant to book the Dawn since she was built in 2002, and last refreshed 2016? I believe she may have a minor refresh in 2021 too. I was cruising with my parents.
The ports called on were: Rijeka, Split, Sarande, Katakolo/Olympia, Santorini, ...
We personally cruise for historical and cultural interests, and to see places that we've never been before--this itinerary met those criteria admirably. This was our 5th cruise with NCL, but first on Dawn, a smaller, somewhat older ship. She is well suited for this kid of trip, for cruisers who aren't looking for a lot of fancy recreation or entertainment--just comfortable accommodation and good ...
I liked the itinerary and looked forward to a smaller ship than I usually sail. This would be my 8th cruise all of them with NCL.
Found the ship attractive, peaceful and calming. Neutral colors were used throughout the ship.
Had an inside cabin and I found it comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well for the most part.
Ate exclusively at the Garden Cafe and found it very ...
