This was our 6th Cruise and our last in Carnival.
in general, the cruise was no more than just OK....other then the ports and the staff that were amazing, anything else was just average minus.
in Summary:
1. Rooms - clean and well maintained (only downside is there is only one power outlet in the room)
2. Food - Average minus. variety is limited, taste is not what I was expecting to get. ...
We sailed last year over Christmas on the Liberty. This year we chose the Conquest over New Years. We would do that again in a heartbeat! Even our teenage sons engaged in the teen club and met new friends-said this was the best cruise yet and we have been on two Carnival and two Royal Caribbean.
Royal Caribbean may be more "upscale" with more specialty restaurants, perhaps better "quality" shows ...
We had 18 family members looking forward to a wonderful cruise. Unfortunately we chose the Conquest. Letting you know we have taken the Carnival Dream and that was very good. The food on the Conquest is poor. If you are looking forward to wonderful meals you will be highly disappointed. On Thanksgiving Day we were anticipating a great turkey dinner. Instead, after waiting 1 1/2 hours standing in ...
What a trip! From the beginning to the end, it was great with just one problem. It seems Carnival has adjusted the "corkage fee" policy. In years past, I have brought champagne with me, opened it prior to going to the MDR, and there was no problem. This time, they charged me a $10 corkage fee even though I had already popped the cork. Because of this, I decided not to book a $150 fishing ...
I want to say thank you to Carnival and their awesome hospitality. My wife and I along with our two children traveled by car from near Tampa Florida. This is our second cruise with Carnival with our previous cruise being out of Tampa on the Legend. We arrived at embarkation port at Miami around noon...kudo's to the Port of Miami and Border Security, we were all checked in and on board within 30 ...
First, there was the embarkation. Long lines which reminded me of the Atlanta airport security check. But, the folks were very friendly, and of course we chatted with the others waiting in line. We had previously sailed on the MSC and Costa lines in Europe. This was our second Carnival (US) cruise following last years cruise on the Carnival Ecstasy to the Bahamas. There were 3K+ guests on this ...
cruise number 12 with carnival, as were the other 11, for some unknown reason we did not leave port until 7pm, no explanation, just a small refund.
Weather was so bad we could not dock in Nassau, small tax refund, no extra entertainment was put on, that night the shows were all cancelled, I can understand the safety thing as far as dancers are concerned but the bingo was cancelled too !
There ...
Only our second cruise ever, and we cant wait to go again!
Second time out of New Orleans, and it was better than the first time. Embarking was so easy and smooth, loving the 'Faster to the fun' got onboard, dropped off bags and stuff at cabin and went and met up with friends we had met from the last cruise.
Cold drink in hand and a Guy's burger for lunch...great start to the fun times ahead. ...
This was my second cruise, my first cruise in 13 years, and my wife's second cruise, the first was in late 2011. I booked this cruise back in July and anxiously awaited the months to pass like a little child waiting for Christmas morning. Because of this, I was a bit disheartened when our cruise was cut a day short because of Tropical Storm Karen closing the Mississippi River, but I felt that ...
This cruise was to celebrate birthdays. There were 6 of us and 5 of us had either just had a birthday or a birthday was coming up. Needless to say we were ready to enjoy ourselves. Our verandah cabin was fine. Ours was next door to one of our friends and we opened the door separating the balcony's. This gave us a nice area to have our cocktail hours (note the plural). All the staff were ...
