Going to list the overall cruise in sections: 1. Day 1 (Disembark) – Cruise launch was great no complaints. 2. Day 2 (Fun At Sea) – Nothing to say about this day. 3. Day 3 (Half Moon Cape) - I woke up by a loud banging and power drill noise from Deck 0 where the ship crew stay around 7 – 7:30 AM in the morning and continued throughout the day. Dismissed it because we had a good time Half-Moon Cape. Went to the service desk kiosk to check our sail & sign cards balance for our cabin and found a unannounced “Gratitude” fee for each person in the room which came out to $108 dollars. Talked with the service desk crew in this order: 1. First person we talked to mentioned that we had to pay this because the whole crew gets this tip (not true) for services rendered. 2. Second and last person helped us remove the charge entirely from our cabin. This shouldn’t take two attempts to remove this charge including if you’re already tipping the crew via cash already. 4. Day 4 (Nassau) – My wife and myself were both woke up by the loud bagging around 6:30 AM and I was not happy with this. Called room service about it and they said they will investigate it. Within a couple of minutes, I hear the intercom go off about two or three times for only the crew to hear without waking up all the guests on the ship and the noise stopped. Few minutes after that the room service manager came to the door wanted to investigate the room for the noise, told her that it already stopped and asked her if she called somebody about it because after a few minutes I got off the phone with her the noise stopped. She didn’t answer my question and said “Sir, it’s impossible for the crew to be working at 6:30 AM because they start working at 8 AM” and left which made me very not happy. Some time in the afternoon she called us back and said she was sorry about what we went through and gave us six $10 coupons for buying drinks which was nice, so we let it go. Nassau was a big disappointment since it’s all about shopping here or going to the amusement water park so didn’t have much relaxation or fun on this one. 5. Day 5 (Miami) – At 5:45 AM we got the loud noise once again which woke us up yet again. My wife was very angry and started stomping on the floor to make them stop which they did for a bit, but they started again in short multiple bursts so we couldn’t sleep at all. Got off the ship very tired. Overall – It was fun for a couple of days up to the Half Moon Cape but after that it was poor experience. Also, Randy Rose (Director of Entertainment) really needs to not reuse the same songs\ dancing routines in the Disembark Party & Nassau - Mega party…FYI…CHANGE IT UP. Another advise Randy, don’t dance in front of the guests while they’re getting off the ship on the last day from the long trip, the rest of the crew is maintaining a professional atmosphere saying goodbye to everyone except for yourself. I appreaciate the antertainmentand activies speacely the Art Auction and the hot tubs. there is one thing i didn'T like it was to have go in the Casino eatch time we have to go to the guest service because of the smoke and the cigaret odoor . I did not travel with children but a saw a lot on them having a great time . I have traveled in Miami with a good friend in January. My son suggest us the Cruse. We booked it from Miami just one week before our cruise. The low cost ''4 days Carnival Victory Cruise'' for Caraïbes escapes motived our choice. We started from Maimi and visited Keywest and Cozumel. Ports and shore excursions weren't our priority. So we decided to make excursions by ourselves. It was a good idea and not expensive to reach Paradise beach, were we past a wonderful sunny day. The cabin was on first floor and close to elevator so it was easy to acces upper floor to eat, dance, swim etc... We were very satisfy from staff. Guelmar our roomate at cabin 1343 and Wendie who work at buffet in morning. They were nice and always ready when we need them. Also the staff in upper Pacific restaurant were we eat late dinner. We also enjoyed activités on 9Th floor : Art auction, dance, spa and drink. We recommend the Cruise. Read Less

This was a last minute booking with an amazing deal for a balcony room. We went in with no expectations coming in and left totally blown away with what a great time we had. Overall cleanliness on the boat was impressive in all the common areas. It didn't take more than a few minutes for an un-attended cup or plate to be scooped and cleaned away by service staff. Food was delicious with the exception of the Pizza Pirate. It nice to have that available 24 hours but we only needed to try it once and we were happy to fill up on all the other great options on the boat. Guy's burger joint was delicious as was the blue iquana tacos and burritos. The main dining was room was a great highlight with menus that changes and they always highlighted food influences by the port of call. Don't forget that you can always order more than one appetizer/entree/dessert! Our waiter during our entire cruise was Retno. She was very pleasant and new our name from the first evening and never forgot until we left. Even on open seating night and breakfast, she came by just to say hello and ensure that we were well taken care of. Desserts were always a highlight at every dinner. Entertainment on the boat was good. There was always a good selection of live music to be heard. Travis was a one man acoustic guitar player that was especially good. So were the multiple evenings of Karaoke!!! We definitely sailed with a talented bunch of passengers! Embarkation was quick and organized and leaving the boat was also pain free and easy. Highlighted destination was Cozumel at Chankanaab. All inclusive eating, drinking, snorkelling and finished off with a tequila tasting tour. Definitely worth checking out if you are considering an excursion. I was brave and had the ice and water while there. I have a sensitive stomach and it had no effect on me. Definitely peace of mind if you are worried about that. There's also a starbucks on site if you need a coffee fix. Overall great itinerary, entertainment and value for what was paid. FUN is definitely what was had and Carnival definitely upholds their reputation for being a fun boat. They should also be known for great service which was an unexpected highlight! Great job to all on the Carnival Victory! Read Less

We chose this cruise as it was reasonably priced to book. We took 7 other younger couples, many of whom were 1st time cruisers. The positives...most of the working staff are positive, energetic, enthusiastic, and service minded. The cabins were comfortable. The excursions were easy to book. Excursions taken by our group were very positive. Boarding and departure were simple. The food was plentiful and most of it...tasty. The onboard entertainment was good. The gimmicky raffles were fun even though they clearly existed to encourage you to spend more money. The negatives...most in our group purchased the premium internet package prior to boarding. It was useless. Everyone we spoke with said the same. And...forget about getting a refund. Customer service would NOT refund internet packages despite its clearly being an unacceptable service level. We purchased the ‘bottomless bubbles’ package prior to boarding. However, the staff has to swipe your card and you have to sign for every soft drink you ‘purchase’...which is a hassle. The bigger hassle was on the second day when they refused to serve us despite having paid for the service prior to the cruise. Reason? ... the credit card used to purchase all items prior to the cruise had to be re-swiped for all on cruise purchases...soft drinks included. Sure wish someone...anyone...told us this! After our 3rd visit to customer service, and waiting in the time consuming line, we then had to deal with an unpleasant and uncooperative customer service rep who rudely shared with us that we were the problem, not them. So...we decided it was time to share our experience with his boss, the customer service manager. She was delightful, empathetic and aware this was a frequent Carnival “problem”. Her ‘service recovery’ efforts were marginal, but because she was pleasant and professional, we let it go. Be prepared to spend far more than the cost of the cruise as nearly everything except the basic food/dinner costs extra. Seasoned cruisers know this. It was disappointing that so much nickel and diming goes on beyond the base cost of the cruise. Read Less

I have been on 9 carnival cruises. This was by far the worst!! We never buy excursions from the cruise but we did this time just in case of inclement weather. They guaranteed if it was inclement weather you would get a refund. We bought the Dolphin encounter that also included paddleboarding, kayaking, and snorkeling. we had the dolphin encounter but they cancelled paddle boarding, kayaking, and snorkeling. At first they blamed it on the weather. Which was perfect of the time no wind full sun 79 degrees. In the end the blamed it on they had no fish due to a storm 3 days prior....We were not informed until we were getting on the bus. We ended up having to pay for a taxi and pay for snorkeling on a different Beach. Which was amazing but we could have done it way cheaper without the cruise ship. The lady at the ship excursion desk was very rude and they would not compensate any of our money. Also our room person did not even clean our room half the time. We They only had one real show and that was the last night at 10:15 p.m. they cancelled the earlier show. That was the first time we saw the dancers and singers. The food was okay. The only thing good about the ship was the company we were in, the other guests on the ship, and our server at dinner Miluska. I think I may choose a new Cruise company next time I go. Read Less

Chose this cruise simply because it was an inexpensive short cruise that I could book at the last minute while spending a month or so in Florida. I had never cruised on Carnival and thought it might be a way to give them a quick test drive. Little did I know that this "test drive" would turn out to be the "cruise from hell". I should have suspected something was wrong when they double charged me for drinks at dinner the first night. I discovered this when I went to the customer service counter at 3 AM on the first night because I couldn't sleep on the thing they called a bed and was unable to find anyplace open for a cup of coffee. They informed me that nothing was open from midnight to 6 or 7 AM. This is something I have never encountered on any other ship. There is always someplace open 24 hours a day. My inability to sleep was due to the beds having so little support that you dare not sit on their edge unless you wished to find yourself sliding onto the floor. After two nights of this I was ready to get off the ship and fly home until they finally agreed to replace the mattress in our cabin. The sliding door to our balcony was in severe need of attention as it was almost impossible to operate due to being off the track. They kept trying to tell me that it was supposed to be this stiff. I kept working my complaint up the chain of command until they finally came and seated it properly in its track on the last evening of our cruise. The staff, except for our cabin attendant and the dining room staff, were less than helpful and seemed to merely going through the motions. I have never seen a more lackluster and unhelpful bunch in 20 plus years of cruising. My first time on Carnival will be my last time on Carnival. Read Less

Wife and I decided to forgo Anniversary and Christmas presents and go on a cruise instead. We are both glad that we made that choice. This is our second Carnival cruise and we had a blast. I know people like to call it the party cruise line but it really wasn't any different than the Norwegian Cruises we have gone on. This one had very few children most likely due to the time of year. Embarkation onto the ship was lightning fast. We had filled out our stuff online...we after showing passport we pretty much walked onto the ship. No hassles at all. When we got to our room, we were quite surprised at the size of it. We just booked an interior room as we figured we wouldn't be in the room other than to sleep and chose to save our money for other things. The room was big, with huge closets, and a nice dressing area. The bathroom was a typical cruise bathroom. Flat screen TV on the wall....but the TV choices were pretty bad. Room was clean and was well serviced throughout the trip. The dining experience was very good throughout. Everything seemed to be of good quality and was all at least on par with what you would find at a chain restaurant like TGIFriday's. They have minimized most of the luxury items like lobster or put those on the premium menu, but even the nightly dinner options had something for everyone. Our wait staff was amazing. Steven and his assistant Ronald and Audeleen were one step ahead of us at every turn, and Steven surprised us as he was the featured waiter in the end of cruise show. Our best meal was a breakfast with steak and eggs....the steak being a 6 oz filet mignon that was cooked PERFECTLY. We love Carnival's chocolate lava cake and had that every night but one. The other deserts were hit and miss but there was good variety each night. The buffet was average and to us was the least enjoyable option. We enjoyed the burgers from Guy Fieri's, the Chinese food from Chopsticks and the Pizza Pirate. None were the best we ever had, but all were at least restaurant quality. People that we talked to that went to the Mexican eatery said it was very good. We didn't check out the sushi or the deli. We didn't drink a lot of alcohol but the drinks we did get were good and had a fair amount of alcohol. The entertainment highlights were definitely the comedians. Steve White and Al Romero were the two on board, and both were hilarious. Steve did 4 different shows and Al did 3. My wife bought Al's book and it is very interesting. Travis was the acoustic guitarist in the main lobby and he was exceptional. The other musical acts did not stand out. We didn't do the nightclubs or the deck dance parties. We LOVE the Dive In movies and watched three of them. It was chillier than expected on the deck, but the staff did provide blankets so we were comfy. I thought the daily schedules were decent every day except the sea day. There just wasn't very much to do during the day and then they cancelled the first showing of the stage show. There were a lot of excursions available. We are frequent visitors to Key West so we just did our own thing there. On Cozumel we did the Thrill and Chill zipline and snorkeling tour. It was a short taxi ride away from the port and was a lot of fun. New experience for my wife and I and we loved it all. The staff was a bit obnoxious with screams and stuff while ziplining but we felt comfortable and safe the whole time. Snorkeling was very basic as they had you follow a guide. It was a great intro to snorkeling....my wife and I are very experienced so it was nothing new to us but the water visibility was amazing and the area had a fair amount to see being right off the beach. When we got down we were supposed to have beach time and access to a bar and restaurant...but by the time we got done snorkeling there were only 15 minutes left. THere should be another hour at least so you can get some beach time. Disembarkation was easy as well, we took our own bags and were off the boat in about 15 minutes and through customs in maybe 10 more. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and would recommend Carnival to our friends. THe ship was older but was clean. The food and entertainment was all good for the most part and we felt we definitely got our money's worth. The one significant change I would make would be to have the sea day the first full day, have Cozumel the second day, cruise back to Key West to have time there at night and then return to Miami. We did have a little drama as we had to turn around after leaving Key West for a medical emergency and there was a lost passenger that turned up after a while. Read Less

Six of the seven cruises I have been on were with carnival cruise line. I’ve always liked carnival but little by little they are eliminating some of the things that made them fun. Some unexpected changes were rather disappointing. No longer do they serve lobster on elegant night, no longer do they provide free room service around the clock, buffet times are shortened so we actually missed the buffet twice. On this cruise while it was only a four day cruise I was also disappointed that the dress code was not enforced in the dining room especially on elegant night. More and more the cruise line is adding options to be paid for rather than included in The cruise price, and that was always one of the benefits of cruising. I have another cruise booked with carnival and I’m hoping things will be better on a longer cruise as they have been in the past. This was the first time I upgraded to a suite and the extra space was very nice, and VIP check-in was included. The only issue we had with the room was that there was no signage on how to use the lights which were a bit tricky due to the fact that we had a handicapped room. We tried all of the buttons and because we didn’t know better we actually alerted staff to an emergency in the room When there wasn’t one. We needed a sail and sign card to activate the lights But had no way of knowing that without any signage. The extra large balcony was a bonus, And we enjoyed that. Just before sailing I was upgraded to this room from a regular suite and while I knew it would be a handicapped room it wasn’t that we needed a handicapped room and it was a bit confusing. Service in the dining room was excellent, but the room service bringing us coffee in the morning got it wrong every single morning. They apologized profusely each morning as well and righted it, but it was a little annoying that we had to send them back each morning. I’ll say that we did have a good cruise and enjoyed ourselves but things have been better in the past Read Less
