This cruise was the expected highlight of a 21 day tour or Vietnam and Cambodia - also run by Emerald.
While I have always shied away from ocean cruises out of Australia, I was really looking forward to the 7-day cruise up the Mekong River.
The whole tour far exceeded my expectations, and the Mekong cruise was indeed the highlight.
With capacity for around 80 passengers (with 30 staff), ...
Emerald met and exceeded our expectations. Their level of service is top rate. You will always be greeted with a smile and a helping hand if needed. There were so many individuals on our tour and ship that enhanced the experience and we are grateful for them all.
The ship itself is beautiful. We loved our room, the pool deck, lounge and dining room.
The food was absolutely ...
We sailed on Emerald Harmony up the Mekong from Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) to Phnom Penn as part of a longer tour of Vietnam and Cambodia with Emerald.
In summary the cruise was simply amazing. Our owners suite was even bigger than it looked in the brochure pictures and we were the envy of several others that we met who had tried to book the suite. We never got round to using the jacuzzi bath ...
We started the land part of our trip in Hanoi, joining the Harmony a week later for seven nights on the Mekong. I have sailed with Emerald once before (on the Rhine) and have been more than impressed on both occasions by the attention to detail of every aspect of the cruise experience.
The Harmony is a beautiful and relatively new ship, very tastefully furnished and fitted-out.
The main ...
The ship is excellent, well designed and thought out. Hardly anything was missing. Good coffee/tea station, no kettles in room, without fi generally works OK on the Mekong. Rooms have plenty of room and bathroom is super. The staff are fantastic, though perhaps a bit over attentive for us. Helpful, courteous and always a smile. Sometimes it's hard for them to understand your needs on good, it ...
Longtime cruise skeptic with memories of childhood seasickness on ferries, converted by this my first cruise. An attractive no single supplement promo led me to book a 13-day Emerald Vietnam-Cambodia tour starting in Ho Chi Minh City and ending in Siem Reap, which included a 7 night upstream Mekong River cruise on the Emerald Harmony. Also available was an even longer version starting in ...
Could not find anything negative about our experience to write about.
The food was creative, varied and delicious. (exceptional shipboard homemade ice cream). The wine tasted top-drawer; whites refreshing and reds smooth. The service was personal and prompt. The room surprised us, spacious, comfortable with lots of closet space. The staff and crew all seemed to enjoy their jobs. The Cruise ...
This is for the cruise ship and crew only!
Everything you have read in other reviews is true.

Emerald Harmony is a very attractive spacious ship. Food was excellent and the staff on board could not have been more pleasant and helpful. The excursions were plentiful and all very interesting. Our tour guides were brilliant. There was a very good mix of nationalities on this cruise and all got along very well.
We enjoyed all aspects of the holiday from the cruise along the Mekong Delta ...
This Emerald Waterways trip included fabulous hotel accommodations in the large cities, a beautiful Bhaya junk on Halong Bay, and spacious, beautiful cabins on board the Emerald Harmony. Noteworthy was the Shanti Mani hotel in Siem Reap, the perfect hotel.
The excursions included several fascinating visits to local families and craftspeople, sampan trips on smaller waterways, and interesting ...
